well i am looking at some other things now... i got a new and better paying job so i might be able to get the things i want quicker... i'm looking at bigger axles, finally a metal bumper, more frame supports, and new cross member and maybe a new t-case

the whole "budget" thing in the title should probably be changed soon eh?

So wheres the latest wheeling pics?

well it's still budget like...junkyard axles... and the t-case is used... metal is metal, thats never cheap... oh well... :D

I know I'm late to the party, but that's a nice looking rig!

I've got a few tech questions. Bear with me if they sound stupid; I'm just learning this stuff...

Someone mentioned before about building flex into your suspension joints, perhaps with softer bushings (urethane, etc), but as far as I can tell, you didn't really address that. So, how did you handle that? I understand that, when the axle is flexing hard your going to be putting some serious twist into the upper and lower links. It seems that it would be appropraite to use uniballs on both ends or something. How does one normally compensate for that so you don't end up snapping your arms when flexing?

The other question is about your front axle fwd/aft placement. You had mentioned that you placed it that far forward because you were concerned with some sort of interference with the oil pan. Were there any other considerations that drove you to put the axle that far foward? What was going to hit the pan and would it have been avoidable another way? It seems that trying to miss the oil pan causes other problems with running into the fenders.

What sort of angles are you getting on the ends of the front drive shaft when front is fully extended? Does it require CV or double-U joints to avoid binding?

I'm just fascinated by all aspects of this type of mod (SFA conversion, specifically and 4x4 tech, generally), but I'll save some of my questions so as not to be too much of a pest.

yeah u have missed alot...evrything has been fixed that had problems...ounce the long arms were made we used him joints on both ends...not the best but effective, flexy, and cheaper... as far as the front foward i also thought alot about how i like having good approch angles... the front drive shaft is fine...it's not stock...i used a front xj c-v shaft and modded it to the length in needed it plus the HP helps on angles... the rear has a SYE and different driveshaft... but the stock was used for about 6 months and worked...it did give some vibes...

it will be done in steps... 1st the front bumper, fenders, rockers and lower windsheild...next rear fenders and bumper and last the top... i have no idea how long things will take... somthing cool im doing in therear fender is; taking the flairs off, welding in all the holes on the body... rhino it or somthing and build a tube flair...
