Post subject:  Help with my parts list
So I've had a little time while I'm TDY here in the Azores to compile a little parts list. I have a lot of things off JJs list but would love some input. Here's what I got so far.

SFA Swap (Run 33s and be happy :))

Front Axle:
-HP Dana 30 non-disco (OUT OF 96-99 XJ)
-4.56 R&P
-Aussie locker
-Fox 2.0 Emulsion coilover shocks 10" travel P/N 980-99-004A
-Eibach coilover springs 550# P/N ERS1000250550
-Eibach coilover springs 450# P/N ERS1000250450
-Riddler diff cover
-New bearings and seals
-Warn hubs
-Currie Anti-Rock Swaybar Sys. (which application do I get???)

-Braking setup?
-High-steer setup???
-What suspension setups should I consider? Rubicon Express, Nth-AEV, Teraflex??? The TJ kits are the ones to use correct?

Rear Axle:
-Teraflex Disc Brake Kit P/N 4354420
-4.56 R&P
-Aussie locker
-Yukon 1541h alloy axles P/N C52070350
-Riddler diff cover

-New driveshafts
-Considering the Tera-low kit for the 231
-Exhaust needs to be modded
-Probably will keep the Soft 8s and go with 33x12.50s later
-New steering box and associated parts

Thats what I got so far...haven't really had time lately to research more. What all would I need to have a high-steer setup on the D30? What would be my options for brakes up front? Which suspension setups (Nth, RE, Teraflex) would be best compatible? If they all take about the same amount of fab work then I'd go with the lower priced brand. All input is appreciated!!!:P

one thing I noticed was you said Aussie lockers front and rear and I am sure they are good but for a little more you can get a better DL and DTT and it will be much stronger, and you are already going to have to have the 4.56 installed so it wouldnt be any extra on the install part

What is your time frame for actually doing the work?

If you have a while to go, I would seriously wait to see what Marty comes up w/ before deciding on which lift parts to run, etc. If his belly pan setup turns out like I Hope it does, It will be sweet, make things easier to build and help make picking suspension parts easy too. (uses RE parts or similar)

At this point there are many ways to go but only a couple ways that have trail time. I have no doubt that the setup I have is good and could be improved upon in subtle ways (and Will be over time) but I also know that there are other ways coming to skin this cat and make a bitchin' SFA KJ.

To keep the brakes simple, you could upgrade to a Vanco setup like allyrand runs. Price is fair for what you get and it is a tested setup that Works. Or go the WJ route witch also gets you a high steer knuckle setup, just add beefy drag link and tie-rod to it all.

Thanks JJ I guess I'm kinda anxious and want to map everything out and start stock piling parts until I get everything (mean that lightly:?). Do you know if Marty has a guestimate on a date for his product? Maybe I should just wait it out and save up some more...maybe I'll get deployed, come back and have front and rear RockJock 60s waiting on my doorstep! :twisted:

Nothing wrong w/ taking your time and seeing what others come up with.

I should have said: If his belly pan setup turns out as awesome as I expect it will, It will make things easier to build and help make picking suspension parts easier too. I have little doubt that Marty Will come up w/ a nice setup. Time wise though is anyones guess as he doesn't rush anything to market and tests the heck out of what he makes. You have to be patient but it should be sweet when it becomes available. Oh and it should be a great way to hang RJ 60's under your KJ! 8)

Yep,
I just bought the rest of my front end parts (other than diff cover and antirock) so parts are always just gathering. as for the belly pan, it looks awesome on paper... just got to get it into metal form...(paper doesn't support much trail abuse :roll: )

If paper doesn't support much trail abuse, maybe next step would be cardboard, and then maybe try it ...on Troys :lol: :lol:

Maybe some particle board or some mdf...better make it at least 3/4" mdf :lol: No I would love for that belly pan to come out asap. I don't want to spend money on the KJ unless its going towards sfa!

just spring for the hardibacker... the extra weight will keep your CG low and the cement is a natural skid :D

i would only go w/ those spring weights if you plan on having extra weight up front...those are for which, metal bumper,and such...in the case of mine(UNTIL I GET THOSE ITEMS) you want the front to flex before the rear does and the rear (if you go w/ Jeepin by al springs) are soft... i would bring the 550lb down to 475 or so...it's just a thought
