So it seems I'm stuck on which tires to get. On one hand i have the BFG AT/KOs and the other i have the Goodyear MT/Rs.

Ulitimatly what is the diffrence between the two tires, i know one is an at tire and one is a mud but what else seperates these two besides the obvious price diffrence and tire type.

Also what size tires are best for each one, What do you guys recommend?

Well I hope Costco gave you a hard time about mounting a 17" tire on a 16" rim,it can't be done, you have to mount a 16" tire on a 16" rim or 17" tire on a 17" rim.How much off roading do you plan on doing? If alot with alot of rocks go with the MT/R's,if not go with the AT tire.

what you should do is look at a few things to help YOU decide
things like how much offroading vs on roading do you do?
In what type of terain do you MOSTLY wheel when offroad?
how much on road comfort are you willing to give up for offroad performance?

That is what I did to put tires on our jeeps
the KJ does 98% on road but we do still wheel it so street tires or all season tires were out but also agressive tires like the MT/R were out
because we were not paying for our tires but goodyear was we went with the AT/S
now with the TJ 95% of its on road driving is to the trail head so highway comfort does not realy matter but rather traction offroad does
and because the terain that I MOSTLY run is dirt trails with roots but NO rocks I was able to go cheep MT at only $65 each
I have replace 3 of the first 5 in 2 years however so if that would be a problem for you then dont go cheep I look at it from how long will I realy keep these tires ,will I go bigger or want more from them?
Knowing the answer to that and knowing that spending nearly 2.5X as much per tire was to me dumb I am happy
I have 1 of the first 5 that rubbed a log got a hunk of wood between the tire and rim when they were a few months old and it still holds air

Think about all that stuff befor you buy
I will say that between now and the next 6 months we will need new rubber on the KJ it will be getting BFG at's
