Anyone running an 18" wheel and a lift on a 4x4?

I'm looking for wheels.. would like to consider an 18" wheel as an option

Will be on a CRD with 2.5" lift

Anyone?

I don't know of anyone on here running 18" wheels, what size of tires are you planning on using?

would not have much of a sidewall, no tire flex on the trail, thats why most everyone uses 15 or 16 inch, theres a Liberty around here with 20s but looks really ...strange

I won't pick tires until I decide wheels .. but would consider 255/55/18 all terrain I guess.

.... I wonder if 265/65/18 would rub ..... ???? ... but that might look pretty good and have a decent sidewall (better than stock.. with wider tread)

65% = 6.78" [*2] = 13.5629" of side wall
+18"

total tire diameter = 31.56"

I don't know if that would even fit.

Donnie got a lot of Flak for these - but I thought it really looked clean - he did kill a tire with the pinch weld
and he's on 245/75/16's now - but I think these were 20's??

I'm not sure, but I understand some run 31x10.5x15's .... so... I'm not sure... just wondering...

This is the chart I go by..

Depending on what lift you have a ~32" tire might fit. That's what I ment when I stated that they might not fit...

The Tire WOULD Fit with a good lift, But it's not the best choice unless you will be street only rig. But then why get an AT. if you plan on taking it on any trail a good rule of thumb is to have no more than half of your tire height as your wheel. A 32" shouldn't be run on anything bigger than a 16" rim. 31's a 15 etc...

That would be the same overall height as a 255/80-16...which is far too tall for a KJ.

a 235/85-16 is a red badge of courage to those who like to hack up their fenderwells...if it's a mall crawler or a garage queen, though, sure, it'll fit

It will fit, will require the same trimming as any other 32. It's the same OD as a 265/75/16 (31.6"), a 255/80/16 is 32.1". Still not a good choice for an offoad tire though.

I'm interested as well. I found a set of Wrangler Unlimited 18" factory take-offs for cheap, but they're 255/70/R18 - I'm afraid thats too big even for a 2.5 lift.

The chart says they may fit, but is anyone actually running them?

They won't fit without A LOT of rubbing front and back, especially with a Rusty's. And you still have the problem of a lack of sidewall on a tire that size. If you are buying that wheel in additon to the tire, remember that you will need to drop another $200 on spacers.
