Hey,

I just did my regular maintenance at dealership and they noticed that when I do a full turn my inner tie rod grinds the outer edge of my rim.

The dealership recommended a spacer to clear it (they guessed a 1/4" wheel spacer but when I removed the tire at home it would only need 1/8" extra). I know some guys here don't recommend spacers so my other option (if possible) is to grind off part of the inner tie rod that is sticking out.

There is more than 1/2" of thread sticking out of the inner tie rod. Can I cut ~1/8" off from the tip to remove that grinding effect when I do full turn (which I don't do often as is [5000km and very little is grind'ed off on front rims])

Any help is appreciated
Thanks.

Easy way to do this but will require a alignment.

Loosen both the right and left tie rod jam nuts, screw in/out the inner tie rode end(the bar with the threads on it,pipe wrench comes in handy or a pair of visegrips) on the side that is causing problems with rubbing until it clears, then do the opposite(screw out if you screwed in the other side) for the other side the same #'s of turns. You will need to get it realigned(toe set) but no cutting involved or using of spacers.

I heard from someone else that I could just adjust my steering stop... any idea on doing this?

I seen for the TJ's its done by adding a few washers behind a nut...(http://www.stu-offroad.com/steering/sto ... stop-1.htm) if the same for the libby I think I will just do that.

No adjustment for the steering stops on a KJ since they are casted onto the LCA's.
