I'll be installing new A/T's on Moabs for my CRD soon, and am trying to decide on what size tires to go with. I'll go either Duratrac or BFG T/A KO. One of the things that made me start considering the 255's is because the Moabs are an inch wider than the stock rims, and I understand that sometimes 245's don't fit them "well." (Plus who doesn't want a little extra height?) Currently I have a trimmed front bumper, but I haven't pounded down the pinch welds. I haven't checked in a while, but my hub-to-fender-flare height was 21.5" this past summer, and I have the Adjust-A-Strut lift so I can dial it up a little if it has sagged.

My calculations show that total wheel height would be 31.06" with the 255/75, and 30.49" with the 245/75, so it's a little over a half inch difference in height. The track width difference is a little under a half inch, at about .39 inches.

Is anyone running 255/75's? Have you had any problems or issues - full lock, pinch weld, etc.?

you mean the 255-70s? i think 255-75's are 17" rim never seen them for 16s

There was a good bit difference in overall width (side wall bulge) in my 245's and my 255's plus the difference that my 255's had weak sidewalls and the 245's were E's, the 255's bulged quite a bit more in addition to the added width even with the LTX style tread vs the M/T on the 245's

my 255's rubbed the pinch before the lift, after the lift, and after the spacers

with the lift + spacers + beating the pinch they didn't rub anywhere except the fog light access doors (which of course aren't on mine anymore)

if you're looking for something in the 31 range and don't want to go to 32 but want it wider to better fit an 8" rim, and you want a better selection of tire styles / types / loads - look at the 265-70-16s which are basically 31x10.5ish

I have 265-70-16's with the fog door cut out and the pinch pounded with 1.25 spacers on each side and its perfect. minimal rubbing, but thats because we didnt trim the bumper that much, so when a little suspension action happens it rubs a tad. I can grab some pics for you if you'd like. oh and i have general grabber AT2's.
