Off Road and Snow Tires

Thank you all for your help thus far. I have done a little research which led me to the General Grabbers, but I have heard they get a bum rap. They seem to perform well for a reasonable price. Does anyone have any insight into these or should I save my pennies and get the KO's?

The only problems I have heard about with the Grabbers is that sometimes they are hard to get. Occasionally the supply gets low for whatever reason....maybe higher demand? IDK. My Grabbers are great, I have them in 245/70 16 size. They have fairly stiff sidewalls, but no worse than the BFG. The BFGs are also a great tire according to their reputation. Either way, you're going to have really good tires on your KJ.

Got my new tires, finally. Went with 235/70/16 and replaced my 17" wheels. I got tired of trying to find a nice wheel for not too much $$$ and told the tire shop to just get me some cheap black steelies price was going to be $80/wheel. Well, when I went to pick everything up, my wheels ended up being silver steel liberty wheels! For the same price. Turns out they get these wheels from people who trade in their wheels, so they are used, but in like-new condition.

They're Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires, on sale 4 for 3. So far, road manners are very close to the Bridgestone Tractions I had on my 17" wheels.

i recommend the yokohamo geolander A/T-S tires. Awesome wet traction and get great rating for snow. I havent used mine in snow yet but ive been through some thick and slippery mud with these tires and they grip very well. Wet traction is awesome, feels just like im driving in dry weather

The traction of my Wrangler Silent Armor's were phenomenal last winter - even at deep snow (up to 1 feet) forest roads.

I also like the dry and wet traction/handling of this tire - by the way ... about 20,000 miles so far with 2/3 tread left.

For snow, wet, ice and solid offroad, nothing is beating the Nokian Vatiiva AT's. they know snow and wet in Scandanavia. Do a little Googling on Vatiiva's and you'll see what I mean. they look awesome too. Have a very similar tread pattern to Revo's but are about $50 less per tire. Also look up Hakka siping...no one can match their 100% through the tread zigzag siping on their multi-compound tires. the more the tread wears, the grippier the tires become. Most are opposite of that.

From a company who has Z rated snow tires, how can you miss... I sure hope I never need to go 118 MPH on snowy roads. LOL.

I hate Goodyears, BUT

Wrangler Silent Armor is the way to go.
