OK, well just dropped off the truck at a place that actually knows what an LT tire is....i said "yea, they're Load Range E's" and he said, "ok, yea, 10ply's, we can do that...they'll be $22.00 a tire." To which i responded..."nice, i'll be right over" Hopefully tomorrow after my mid-term exams...prolly around 12:30 i'll be able to pick it up...Thanks for all your well-wishing and support guys...

Make sure you drive over to all three of those lame tire shops and show them.

Tell the tire shop that IS mounting them your story and the names of the shops that didn't know what they were doing. Tell him/her that you plan to promote his/her shop from now on.

Joe,
I didn't really have a problem with the first two places...they were nice about it and although it was a waste of their time and mine, they didn't charge me. The also did their best to point me in the direction of someone who COULD mount the tires...I think their equipment just wasn't strong enough and that is what was causing all the trouble...Now...GoodYear I have BIG issues with...and that will be my first stop after picking up my truck...I will however, make sure to thank the guy i spole with today and let him know all about the other shops...and i WILL steer anyone who's looking to get tires mounted in his direction...Man i can't wait to see what those meats look like finally mounted on my KJ...i miss her already!!! Then i'll bring it home, pound in the pinch weld to eliminate any rubbing, and then take them for a break in run...after I throw my old RSA's at the GoodYear ladies that is....

Thanks again,
-Savage-

Yea, i cant wait to see your truck either. I also cant wait to visit those "nice ladies" at goodyear with your tires installed. And at the sake of sounding repetitive i cant wait to break in your new tires with you too.

OK^^^^^^^perfect example....RipTide and I have been hanging out all day, and he was logged into his LOST account when i made that post....hence why it has his name at the top of it...but to clarify, it was indeed I, SavageSS27, who made that post....so whatever my post count says....just add one...oh and subtract one from RipTides.....'cuz that kind of thing is REALLY important

And the story begins.....

Ok, so, we met up with some friends who we hadn't seen in a while who said "nice Jeeps, wanna go offroading" to which we or course relied..."sure" Little did we know that we were going to be the only ones bringing vehicles....we didn't find this little tidbit of info out until we got there so it didn't help much. Well , we're traveling around...having lots of fun...lots of water, mud, dirt....fun stuff...until we got stuck....that's when it started sucking...so, the Jeeps are still out in the cold....including one Hummer H2 that came to try to rescue us...So needless to say, i'm quite depressed at the moment as my only daily driver and the truck i've put every dime that i could spare into is now sitting in the middle of nowhere until i can figure out how to get it out...

will post pics after Riptide and i get some food....BTW....this adventure started at 7:00 and still ain't over...

And That's why you're still out there.........an H2 tried to pull you out! My neighbor's hummer gets stuck more often than I do, and he paid almost 3x as much as I did! He hated it when I winched him out of a mudhole I passed him in! (mostly cuz i let him know everytime i see him!) He also has a hard time not breaking something while on the trail. I haven't had a problem yet, knock on wood.......

well, the sadder part is, he never even made it far enough along the trail to see us...also...i have no tow hooks and no straps...so i'm gonna have to use someone elses strap and wrap it around my axle ::wince::

There's a good idea of what i'm up against...it seems that the left front is the only one w/o traction...but it's so deep in that the other three can't do anything about it...especially considering both diffs are open

Not to be Captain Bringdown, but that looks like terrain for M/T tires...

yea...well, the guys we went wheeling with (who know the trails) said "oh you can make it farther no problem." And as soon as we got stuck, they mood changed to "that's the worst i've ever seen these trails." Oh, well thanks for the info &@%$#!!!!!

So, we are in the process of trying to mount a rescue effort....so here's how things went down last night....2 jeeps wheeling....1 gets stuck...1 jeep starts back to get help for 1st Jeep....2nd Jeep get stuck.....Hummer comes to get jeeps out.....Hummer gets stuck....2nd Hummer comes to get hummer AND Jeeps out, and he ends up just bringing us all home...leaving our prized possesions out in the middle of nowhere....fun!!!!

that looks like your gonna need a bigger vehicle to get you outta there man....maybe an actual trail only vehicle fully locked or somethin.....

too bad you don't have a winch, it's like having your own rescue party! i know mine's saved me once already, and that right there was worth the money!

yea...well....the money issue is kind of a big one...it'll probably take me two months at least to save up for an ARB and a winch...but it's definately worth it, that much i know...the mud isn't as bad as it looks actually...about 10-15 feet back from where i am is all solid ground...and only that front left tire is really stuck....but since my diffs are open, i can't get enough traction by myself to get out...

The exact thing that has happened to you happened to me and my friends a few years ago. We ended up having to get some farm boys to bring their dad's farm tractor to get all our trucks out. Good luck...

well, the Jeeps are out...to the tune of $550.00 total, not including the $450...to tow out the Hummer....So, all in all, it was an expensive day/night/day again....I think i'll be investing in those tow hooks now...oh, and a strap..DOH!!! Well, at least we're home and the Jeeps are happy (covered in mud)...

It was quite the adventure though...water crossings...lots of mud...trees...brush...ruts and all else that comes from wheeling.....and i just want to let everyone know...that our KJ's were struggling to go as SLOW ans the Hummers were....they basically ate everything we threw at them....with the exception of feet of mud....so, now to dig up the $300....for the tow and the $165 for my car payment...YAY!!!!
