does anyone know which mud tire has the longest road life, i am currently looking at a BFG MT or a Firestone destination MT. I would like to have the agressiveness of a mud tire for the weekends, but i don't plan on taking them off during the week. All in all, which tire would you guys say would be the best for me? P.S. my KJ is a stock 03

I'd think the Destination's last longer, based on reviews from TireRack, and the fact that I can't tell I've put 10K miles on mine, minus rock rash. Reviews on TireRack show people easily getting 40K outta theirs with proper rotations.

I don't have any experience with the Firestones. But my buddy has been running BFGs for over 50,000 miles and they still look like they could go 10,000 more. They've been great tires. Expensive but great.

I run a set of militaries on my truck during hunting season as I have an extra set of rims. They are on 16 inch rims and the size is 700. They are not a very long lasting tire, but boy will they go. You don't have to run alot of rpm to get them to go and they are non-directional.

I have 5 Trxus MT's (33 x 10), and they're a great mud tire, that's still tolerable on the street (radials). I also have a pair of Boggers that I change at the trailhead (33 x 12, bias ply), and there's a seat of the pants noticable improvement in the mud. I can't notice any steering issues by mixing bias and radial on the trail, or even at 35 MPH on dirt roads. Many guys in our club like to say 'go Bogger, or go home'

If you really want a mud tire, those are my 2 recommendations.

Try getting a buckshot mudder (cheap) or destination M/T in a "LT" size aired down to 13 lbs and go.

Might look into Kumho's. Decent for the price. Dunlop M/T's are always fairly inexpensive. I personally love the TRXUS M/T, but they are limited as to KJ-friendly sizes.

I am loving my buckshots, they clean out REAL WELL and have not had any issues with lack of grip no matter what the terrain
