Has anyone put 255/65/16 on stock? I have a CRD and am thinking about them.

Yep, have 255/65/16's (Firestone Destination AT's) on a non-lifted 2005 4x4 gasoline. ONLY I have Rubicon rims. No rubbing but then you have to note that the Rubi rims have a wider offset so my track is about 3-4 inches wider. Best thing I ever did for this KJ was going to this combo. Much better handling, safer stance and much better looks. Rubi rims will cost you (I paid $250 for all 5 with only a couple of hunderd miles on 'em...I know, I got a killer deal) but they are so very well worth it. Plus I get a lot of thumbs up from other KJ owners on the road.

I think this is my first post on the new site!

I had 255/65/16 LEs on rubicon moab rims on my stock 2003 Sport and they rubbed quite a bit on the pinch weld and by the fog light trap door. I switched back to a 7 inch rim with stock back spacing (sold the moabs on ebay) and the same tires didn't even come close to rubbing anywhere. It is amazing what a difference a little change in back spacing and 1 inch in rim width will make.

Personally I didn't like the ride of the 255/65/16 on either rim. I missed the added comfort of the side wall flex, both on and off road. I ended up going back to a 245/70/16 tire. It ended up being a $300 mistake.
