I'm replacing my OEM tires as soon as possible with 245/70/16. I've researched on tire rack. Read all the reviews, etc.
Revos are higher rated (#2 in survey) but the reviews of Liberty owners seem to complain about road noise.
The Silent Armors are apparently quieter.

My summer driving is generally dirt roads, mud and an occasional mild off road challenge. Winters will be highway with some snow and backroads thrown in.

Anyone have experience with either/both? Opinions?

It depends if you like road noise i personally prefer a little bit more road noise. If you dont mind the road noise try the BFG AT KOs. The new construction are quieter than the old design. My BFG Mudterrains are about the same noise level as the old all terrains. So I assume the new all terrains will be much quieter. One of my friends has the silent armors and they dont do so good off road compared to the BFG all terrains.

Hey, my question too. The Revos are at snow bars, less than 4/16 inch, after 30K miles. That's probably 27K at interstate speed and 2.5K on dirt. Road hum was probably aceptable at the start and then went away, but lately I notice more hum in the limited 30-40 mph range.

My typical application is a 300 mile highway cruise to a Sierra roadend or a Death Valley backroad or a KJ West trail run. I'm probably still interested in Highway/Offroad AT, so I'm considering the B.S. Dueler Revo and F.S. Destination AT (since I have the FS liftime alignment), but also the G.Y. Wrangler Silent Armor. It does rain in California (30 or 40 days straight this past year), so the wet and snow handling are something I'm eyeballing too.

Then again, the G.Y. MT/R's really showed well at Moab, so I'm thinking about them too, or F.S. Destination MT's.

I talked to a tire dealer who's been in business in snow/ice country for 18 years. Because it's a small town that serves 8-10 other smaller towns, he sells all tire brands. He must have had some time on his hands because he read to me from his technical manual: Revo technology has 21 patents, Silent Armor has 2, more traction as the tread wears for Revos, Bridgeston/Firestone has more stores in obscure places if you're traveling, etc. I finally asked him what he ran on his vehicles..... Revos on both of 'em. I love the look fo the BFG mudders, but I don't need that much tire.
