Pirelli Scorpion ATR vs. Dueler REVO

The Scorpion ATR is currently ranked above REVOs on TireRack right now (granted, it's logged substantially fewer miles). However, the tire is cheaper and seems to have a tread design very similar to the REVO. Anyone have any experience with these tires and how they stack up to the Dueler REVO?

Actually if u read the comparo chart it really only scores better in tread wear, noise level & cornering response. Those are all qualities to be expected from a less aggresive tire which it looks like it is. Looks like it would be a marginally better on-road tire and a marginally worse off-road tire overall. Granted the diffs are minute but with only 39 respondants on the Scorpion, that's really not a significant demographic.

I had the Pirellis on before I got my MT/Rs

I'm not going to complain about them. My first trip to Paragon had them under the jeep and they did just fine. That was more rock than mud. They might not be as good in mud. I dunno.

I heard people having puncture problems off road..or read i should say.. Prob a great drivng tire though.

One of the off road mags not to long ago finished a long term test on the Scorpions, they liked them a lot better than they thought they would. They recommended them.

Good timing on the post, I read the same thing last night and I was going to ask the same question myself.

I asked a few people and although they dont have the ATR's, they did say that Pirelli is a decent tire. I was thinking about switching sooner or later myself seeing as I am finding that I'm not offroading with the Lib and probably wont be unless I get a second car/truck. The most I do is light dirt/muddy roads when I go fishing/hiking/riding or for snow.

I have Coopers and I love them but Tirerack doesnt rank/review them so I dont know how they are considered compared to the other more popular names.

I have had them and they are really a 75% onroad tire. They have low noise and great onroad traction but arn't really that good offroad, at least in anthing that is loose at all. Thay are a pretty good sand tire though.

Does anyone have further comments on these tires as I was considering them as replacement for my 17" stock rims?
Either these or Forteras or Silent Armors, down to three.

I was checking other sites for more info on Scorpion ATR, and here is something interesting:

According to this reviewer, "These tires develop flat spots". And out of 12 reviews it's gotten 3.5 overall, whereas on tirerack it's almost gotten 9.5/10, which makes me thing is there flooding of positive reviewers for some reason, since this is a new tire!?!?
