I have an 06 Liberty and I was planning on getting the 2.5 Rusty's spacer lift and get the TrXus MT tires on 16" rims. But I'm not sure what size to get. Rusty's say that the lift allows a 31" tire, but these are the closest sizes for that tire:

Which one could I use?

235s aren't much bigger than stock...the 255s sound like your best bet. You may have some rubbing...take off the pinch weld and you may be ok. Anyone run 255s?? Mostly everybody I know runs 245s and has no problems.

But check out the height!. They are all almost or more than 32 inches......Do a search in the TIRE and Wheel section and you'll see the problems people are having with 32 inch tires.

IMO you will not get a SS trXus on unless you remove the fender liners do some mega triming up front and bumpstop space the h@#l out in back
I dont think that all the work that will be needed is worth it to gain only .75 or less under the rear diff
I would go to a 15" rim and a 215/85R15 TSL radial or for a BAD A#$ look go with the 29X10.5R15 Thornbird ,not a "great" tire but it looks cool and will work as good as most other MT's

You may get away with putting the 30X10.5 TSL Radial or the 30K11.5 thornbird but I dont know how much trimming you will need to do

245/75's fit great without rubbing on a 2 inch lift. A lot depends on the rims you will be using, but I would bet anything over 31 is going to rub somewhere. I would test fit the right front, before I bought anything

The tire size numbers posted are about right. The formula for tire size is (treadwidth * percent sidewall height * 2) / mm per inch + rim height

235/85 R16 are: (235 * .85 * 2) / 25.4 + 16 = 31.72 inches
245/75 R16's are 30.46 inches

I have never seen it done but from the looks of the specs on the tires you should be able to run the 29X10.5-15 stock (28.6" high 8.2" tread)
with a lift you may be able to get the 30X11.5-15 (29.6" high 9.6" tread) they make a 30X11.5-16 that may work on the stock rim with a lift I think it has the same spec's as the 15" version
I know that a 245/75R16 Goodyear MT/R is the favorite around here and the specs on them are 30.7 high and 9.7 tread but the thornbirds have a very big lug that hangs off the side so you need to give up that 1" in hight to get them on but I would realy like to see it

My pan is to get the wife to move up to a full size so we have a tow rig for the TJ and then I will drive the KJ around town when that happens I plan to go with an OME "lift" and the 29X10.5 birds for the look

Some people have run the 235/85s before.
