Has anyone seen the new Kumho Road Venture MT KL71? It looks like a great 245/75/16 tire for those who have lifted Libertys. If anyone happens to have them, I would love to hear your impressions as they seem to be pretty affordable at the Tire Rack. You can check out pictures and specs below.

The only thing I dont like about those is that they are directional tread, reduced treadlife due to lack of rotation options, It is possible that they will get you in a mudhole but not back out :? And your spare is only good for one side of the vehicle.

The do LOOK great though.

I hadn't thought about the spare tire thing.

Dayton timberline MT's are inexpensive and work great, if you are looking for an alternate choice. Dayton is owned by Firestone/Bridgestone. I got my 235/85r16's for $128 out the door (tire+mount+balance+recycle fee)

I have them in 31 X 10.5 R15 and absolutely love them so far. I have only put 1000 miles on them but they have done well in all driving conditions: snow, mud, ice, rock, pavement, you name it. For a spare I use a different tire of the same size as it is only a spare and I will use a 4 tire rotation. My only concern is tread life which only time will tell. Sooo... as of now I would recommend them but ask again in about 20,000 mi.

I just bought a set of these tires in the 245/75/R16 size and will be picking up some Moab rims in a few weeks to mount them on. As for the spare I'm using Cowdogg's phylosophy of using a different tire as the spare (mine's a Wrangler Silent Armor). I love the styling of the tire and we'll have to see how they do offroad, which is where they will primarily see usage.

I have a set on my KJ and i love them. Mud is simply not an issue. They clean out very very well. As for the spare, i'm going to go with the standard Kumho MT thats uni-directional. It's a spare! It only needs to get you home. The only complaint is that they are a little noisy at 60mph+ but so are all MT's. I have about 3500 miles on them and not even a little sign of wear. Mostly driven hard on pavement. You can see what they look like on the KJ here. Mine are 245/75/16.
