32/11.50 15's on a KJ

After doing some searching I see many have managed to fit 265/75R16's with the standard 2.5 " lift. Has anyone tried 32/11.50 15's?
I was thinking on a 7" rim with 4.5" BS it might work with a few mods like rear bump stops, some flare trimming, longer rear LCA's and a different front bumper.

The tire I was looking at is rated for an 8 to 10" wheel. For years I ran 33/12.50's on an 8x15 wheel with no trouble.
Section width would be just under 11", Tread width is 9" with a 31.76 diameter.

Any thoughts?

I have 32x11.5r-15's on 15x8's on my XJ with 4+ inches of lift. My rims have only 3.75" backspace, but I don't see them fitting on our KJ no matter what the width or backspace is. (I have tried)

If Superlift would ever finish their 4.0" lift I think a 32x11.5 would be perfect on a 15x8 with 4.50"-4.75" backspace, or some 285/75-16's on 16x8's with 4.5"-5.0' backspace.

I could see how that wheel wouldn't work at all. It would stick out 1.75" more than a 7" with 4.5 BS increasing the arc on the steering and not letting any of the tire fit behind the flare in the front or rear. Must look killer on your XJ. What tire is it?

They are Les Schwab brand "Dean" Mud Terrain SXT Radials. They are about half way between an AT & MT, and they last. Only down side is Les Schwab's prices :cry:

. I could have got MTR's at Wal Mart for the same price, but they had to order.

I just wish Dean made them in a 255/70r-16 or 265/70r-16

Those look pretty neat, probably not too noisy.

Goodyear has something similar but looks more A/T

They have the size you want. I have that tire in a 245/75R16

I did some more measuring today and it looks like the wheel well liners would need to come out also. Seems that wouldn't be a problem if you undercoated the area.

I still think they would be too wide. If you check my cardomain link (pages 5 & 6) you can see how tight my wifes KJ is allready. It has 245/75r-16's (30.5" x 9.5" w/8.2" tread) on Moabs (16x8 w/ 5.0" backspace). I would like to get 265/70r16's next time (30.6" x 10.5" w/8.7" tread) but I would have to go up another 0.5"-1.0" or do some major trimming/ remove liners. My wife would love to have it taller, but she would never let me cut it up that much.

I see how critical the rim size is, thats for sure. I have 245/75R16's also but on 16x8 with 5.5 BS. Your pics look like a bigger tire than mine. I have removed the rear sway bar and stuffed the tire with no rubbing and your right- there isn't much room left. I have not done that on the front yet.

wow, when I put my XJ's 32x11.5" with 8"s x 3.75"bs on our KJ they stuck out alot more than that!

The tread stuck out about 2" past the fenders & rubbed very, very bad just turning them from side to side. Sure those aren't 4.75"bs?

I now have 16x8 Moabs (5.0"bs) with my BFG 245/75's and they still rub alot.

LT245/75R-16 = 30.5"x9.75" on 8" rim
32x11.5R-15LT = 31.5"x11.0" on 8" rim

If I had 3.5" to 4.0" lift I think they would fit OK. Not with only 2.0" to 2.5" lift.

Looks sharp! thanks for posting, what suspension/body mods have you done to fit them?

you know what, now come to think of it it might be 4.5" bs, yes they are. opps. I have a rustys spring kit, 5/8" clevis lift for a measured 4.25" total lift in the front. out back i have the the rustys springs and 2.5" daystart rubbers under that for a total of about 4.5" total measured lift.

my front bumper is all hacked up! and the pinchweld is knocked down but still rubs a tiny bit when you turn side to side. I plan on cuting the weld riight out, welding it up and undercoating it when i have time. other than that it is all good.

AHH...

I thought that looked like more than 2.5"s of lift. Like I said (if i had 3.5" to 4.0" lift i think they would fit ok), but sounds like 4"+ lift they still rub.

Like I said it is nto that bad. if you are not into hacking up a daily driver, than I would stick to something like a 31. the one inch doesnt seam like a lot, but even a 31 will rub the pinchweld with a 2.5" lift. Dont know if you saw my thread about almost fliping the jeep, but with 4 inches of lift, no rear sway bar and these tires it is kind of dangerous. feels much more like a tipical jeep now! I love it!

I took it across a small trail last night, and the holes are about a foot deep or so, so basicly the truck just bounces up and down like a roller section, and all 4 tires travel up about 5 inches in the fenders and rub everything! lol, but nothing that I would do any damage on.

My plans this weekend are, replace the cracked u joint on the drive shaft, take out the 4 inner fenders and trim the rear flare and under coat the hell out of everything for the winter... then I wont have any rubbing!

I have 265/75/16 on my 02 it rubs at full flex on the back flares. I have a 2" spacer and it puts me at 3.5 I am going to us 1.5 to see if that will help. on front I have no rub anywhere . I dont think that the difrence between 32 /31 is worth all the hassel

Hey kkkustom - what year is your KJ?

I have an '02, with about 3" lift (~= 4" on an '03 -->)and 33 x 10.50's. I'm thinking of adding an extra inch, but I'm wondering if anyone's ever tried it and actually blown out their front CV's (or maybe not), as we're all told will happen.
