I'm looking at getting new wheels however i hear a lot about 16x8. Is this a good size to get? Why not 15x8?

15 inch wheels will not fit on a Liberty because the brake calipers will not clear. A 16" wheel is minimum. I think I've seen people put 15" on 02 Libby's but I'm not sure. I think it has to do with rear drum breaks, but the newer Libby's don't offer rear drum brakes.

I believe people have put 15" rims on but had to use spacers??? Do a search you might find your answer.

Do you have rear disc brakes? Do you have spacers? Is it the 5" backspacing that makes them fit?

it is realy a "crap shoot" on 15" wheels som fit most do not
I also found ot that you can get some 15's that will clear the breaks but not the steering
I tryed to mount the stock wheels from a TJ ,canyon's I think, and they had like 4.75" ob BS wich was perect
I knew that breaks would be cleared they cleared the breaks on a GC with a V8 ,big breaks so they say, well they did but they would not clear the steering?

The rim was pulled forward of the jeep not allowing the lug nuts to line up ,in other words the rim needed to be pushed back
