Here are my choices, my vehicle is 90% on road, but it will see some mud, rocks, etc...
First choice were
BFGs AT Kos, but, the price is a little steep....
second
MTRs ... but they are noisy... and pricey...
third
Cooper STTs

What would you do?
My jeep is stock for now, for about a year... no lift etc... i might be putting lockers soon

Seems a little bit much to have the MTR's on your Jeep if you do that much on roading... Just remember to be honest about your driving habbits and then choose a tire - the result will be much better. I guess I am jaded though because I am really a 95% on road guy and still wanted a nice tire too...

The new Cooper STT is supposed to be quieter on the road than most MT's and better handling with the siping, plus you've got the 3ply sidewalls.

When my TrXus MT's wear out, I'll be looking to get a set.

I recommend MT/R's,really great tires.I've ran them since '01 and don't even notice to noise anymore(that's what the radio's for ).Pretty long lasting to,my 265/75's have about 33,000 miles on them and still have over half the tread left.

What kind of pressure do you run with the Libby? I have the fronts at 50 and the backs at 45. I know it is high but I thought it would help the rolling resistance.

Well with messing with psi in my tires I found running 38 psi gave me the best ride/wear,I tried from 28-50 psi over 6 months.The 245's you have may be different,I'd try 33-40 psi and go from there.Running the higher psi will also wear the tires center(a KJ is not heavy enough for the higher psi's and doesn't tow a heavy enough load), change the overall final gear ratio(like you didn't already do that),and give a really harsh/jolting ride.Let me tell you the MT/R's make the KJ ride like a Caddy with only 12 psi(don't corner to fast!).

I love my Dayton Timberline MT's, but you will have more noise and lower MPG (although I switched sizes, so that could be how I lost MPG too). They made good snow tires. I'd get them again, but they are noisy...

I found these, but the funny thing is, that this size is not listed on Kumho's web site... i was thinking of 235/75/16 with stock wheels/susp.
