Big O Bigfoot X/T....Anyone try these yet?

I was doing some more window shopping and stopped by a newer tire store we have around Dayton. This looked like a good compromise between an AT and MT tire. Does anyone have experience with them?

I've been looking at those too since they come in a 245/70/R17 and the Big O store is the closest to the house. I haven't run the X/T but did run Big O Pathfinders on my last truck. I was very happy with them.

For those looking at similar tires for a 17 inch rim with a lift, there is the Mastercraft. It also comes in a 245/70/17.

This is probably a stupid question but are they the same company that makes Coopers (or the other way around)? How do the two companies (or names) compare?

I have Coopers but never looked at Mastercraft but there are some nice looking tires on that link.

Joe Jeep Owner ~ Probably Cooper as the manufacturer. They make tires for a number of other brands.

I just got back from Big O. They're right proud of the X/T at $235 a piece for the 245/70/R17. But, they do have a 6 year unlimited mileage warranty. They raved about them and several of the employees had them on their 4x4's.

Wow 6 year unlimited mileage warranty, almost be worth it lets see I drive 36 to 40,000 per year times 6 years equals 240,000 miles what a deal!

I have run Cooper and Mastercraft brands before and all do a decent job.Never had any problems with them

tommud ~ I forgot to add that as of April 1, Big O is changing their warranty to 3 years (full replacement) and years 4 through 6 pro-rated. Mileage still won't matter.

At $235.00 a tire not including mounting and balancing is pretty darn steep for a tire. Reminds me of places that give you the lifetime warranty line B.S., then charge you 3 - 4 times what it's worth.

Good lord! I thought paying $180 for 265/75R16 MT/R's was bad.At least my MT/R's have offroad hazard as long as I have more than 1/32" of tread left(no mileage or time limit).

Wow, that is a steep price...must be a 17" rim thing. The 225/75/16's and 245/70/16's were much cheaper. Less than 500 for a set of 4.

Yup, the price is high enough that I'm still looking around. They also offered the Mickey Thompson ATZ in a 245/70/R17 for $205. But, even at that price, the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors are looking better all the time.

No one in town is selling the Mastercraft tires. I didn't bother calling out of town for prices, although I probably should.

Seen the big O XT in person and these things look sick once I'm lifted getting them forsure. As for your comments on them being expensive could be the 17inch rim that makes them so expensive. But if I can get the for a decent price I will be all over them once I get lifted. That is when ever the second baby pops out and can lift the darn jeep. Just thought I would put my 2 cents in on how these look.

General Grabber AT2s 245/70/R16 are $86 a piece from Tire Rack. Add shipping and mounting and you are still less than $120 a tire (with a 60k warranty.) For the price of Big Os, you can get more than 2 sets of the Grabbers. Heck, you could get BFG TAs for $145 mounted at Discount 'round these parts.

I really like the look of these tires. But I sent an email for a price qoute, and the qouted me at something like 171.99 plus 15 dollars each tire for mountaing and balalancing in a 245/75/r16 size. Still seem a bit high to me for some tires... Makes the Grabbers a whole lot more pretty!
