Purchasing a set of Moabs. I dont have a lift at the moment, dont plan too much on getting one anytime soon.

What tires will fit without rubbing or extreemly minimal rubbing.

255/65/r16s?

Since the stock rims ar 16x7 with 5.5" BS and MOAB's are 16x8 with 5" BS you are most likely to rub with any tire you put on.255/65's are going to rub like crazy, 245/70's will be your best bet since they fit on stock KJ's with no/little rubbing. You may need to pound down the pinch weld and you'll probally rub on the fog light doors but shouldn't be to bad though if you don't offroad with it.The MOAB's will stick out 1" farther than the stock wheels so that's where all the rubbing will take place from, turn your wheels back and forth with your stock rims and judge the clearences than add 1" to the outside of the stock rims and you'll get a idea of how bad you'll rub.

Do a search on this ?? on this forum as it comes up regularly.

Check w/ the tire manufacturer that the size you are looking for will be 'approved' to fit 8.0" wide rims and ensure that the OAD is not greater than 29.5". Note some variance may apply as each Co's measurements may vary slightly.

I have several sets and I found u may get slight kissing at full lock but should be fine if u stay within these parameters. I didn't pound the weld nor cut the plastic.
