What's a decent Street-only tire for a stock Liberty ??

What's a decent Street-only tire for a stock Liberty ??

I want to maintain the softer ride quality (like the OEM STs), but need MUCH better traction!

Just put Goodyear Fortera Silent Armor's on ours. Oh my...what a HUGE difference. I went with the 235/70/16. I bought this used and it didn't have stock tires (had Eldorado ZTR Sport - Cooper Tire) so I don't know what it was like with the stockers, but I'm very impressed by the ride and low noise of these Fortera's.

They aren't cheap, but it has been my experience that tires are usually worth spending money on.

I actually just upgraded to Avon Ranger's for my Libby. I don't go offroad anywhere near as much as I'd like to, and even when I do, it's mostly loose gravel or some dirt hills. I got mine off of TireRack.com for about $88 a piece (245/70/16). I've noticed they seem a little better than the stock GoodYears in terms of traction and treadwear. Also quieter and have gotten much better reviews from consumers. In the rain, they hold better traction than the stocker's. Then again, pretty much anything is better than the stocker's. lol
They are significantly cheaper than any GoodYear tire and seem to be better all around. After I get some more miles on them, I'll let you know if anything changes. All in all, I think it's a great tire for the money.
