I'm picking up 5 Crager Soft 8 16" rims with 5" backspacing

Almost new. Comes with 4 GY RTS 245/75s.

Yeah, the RTS suck, but at $50 for each tire & Rim, I'm not complaining if they help.


Question is will a street tire like that increase the MPG at all over a set of MT/Rs or will it still suck because of the size?

I'm sure your mpg's will stay the same,even though you are going to a lighter street tire you are going to a heavier rim compared to your MT/R and MOAB set-up,put the Street tires on the MOAB's and the MT/R's on the steel rims and you'll increase your mpg's with the MOAB/street tire set-up.You wouldn't get much though since you would be still running a 245/75 tire.

I have some 245/70 A/T tires on some cragars and I hardly notice a drop in performance or MPG. Of course the tires you have are almost an inch bigger so im sure you will notice a difference.
