any one try the Kumho road venture MT?

i love the look of them, but i'm worried about tread life, and If i could fit a 265/75 in a MT like that.

why not pick up the Iroks and rubi rims that I posted for LESS money than those?
after shipping and M&B you will be over $800 for 5 of the 245/75's?

hmm first time i've seen these...but being cheaper than what my BFG AT/KOs were im already liking them. However, like you said the tread life is worrisome to me. But for the price you cant go wrong...especially for an MT

I just put a set of the Kumho Road Venture KL78s on 3 weeks ago and already have over 2000 miles and they are doing great ride good tried them in some mud and while not a REAL mud tire did pretty well, so I would think the MTs would do fine. Prices are good also or at least the deal I got was

these MTs have a load rating of E that's the same as a BFG TA KO doesnt the load rating represent the ply of a tire, so this tire would be a 10-ply..the same as the BFG correct? in a 245/75/16 that is

one thing i did notice about those KL's however is that there's no siping on the knibs of the tire and thats what you want on a rain slick street isnt it?

IMO, if you are so worried about wet onroad driving then you should go H/T's.
M/T's will be fine on wet roads as long as you drive according to the conditions.

jason- im not even close to needing new tires, and I saw these in a magazine and had never seen them, or heard anything so i wanted to see if some one had some experience with them. like I said im looking for some 265/75's maybe some di*k cepek FC-2's or something, just looking around for now.

One thing I noticed in the pictures of both tires is the apparent lack of a "rim protector" like on the BFG AT/KO or the Grabber AT2.

I have been doing a lot of research on them and have seen nothing but positve things. Great off road and on road and look mean. They also have a 225/75r16 that will fit on a stock KJ for $110 from Tirerack.com.

I am going to pass because my main needs are sand and icy, snowy roads and I think the Grabber AT2 fits my needs more thoughly, and I want 245/70's. If I were looking for something more off road oriented I would buy them in a second.

would it kill the manufacturer to put one bit of siping in those so the driver of these doesn't kill themselves ON THE WAY to wheeling? heaven forbid it rained or snowed on the day you wanted to go offroad and had to drive more than a mile in the wet stuff. those KLs are directional arent they? wont that cause some treadwear issues with not being able to rotate them to the other side?

whats the reason for MTs not having siping? i really wish my MTRs had siping, although theyre not horrible in the rain. havent had snow yet though... :roll:

I've heard when ALOT of siping is used, offroading can chip the treads...they basically break apart at the sipes...however, a little bit of siping would be good. I know there are some out there...Nokian has a crazy new designed MT tire that has a single sipe through the big treads. I can't understand why NO siping at all tho. Lots is bad for rocks, but a couple shouldn't kill the treads.

I will let you know in a few weeks how they work on the Liberty. I have ordered a set of KL71's last week. I rode in a Grand Cherokee with these tires, and they have to be the QUIETEST mud tire ever! MUCH less noise than my Nitto Terragrappler AT tires I have on my Liberty.
I have 265/75/16 terragrapplers on my liberty now, and they are about 1/4" bigger in diameter than the KL71 tires on the above mentioned grand cherokee. If anything, the slightly smaller diameter will take care of all my rub problems.
