This was supposed to go with this thread:

They look sweet, but appear to be really, really expensive.

I saw a press release stating that they will soon release a full size range.

Looks like it's back to Grabbers

don't let msrp or the like fool you on prices. I read everywhere how awesome Vatiiva's were but people were saying, "darn, those are nice but PRICEY!" I went to my local tire shop and got a set of 5 Nokians for $485. $515 OTD mounted balanced and roadside hazard for the life of the tires. they were $103 a pop. That's nearly $50 less than BFGs and they are equal to those and Revo's in every sense of the word...and for winter, crush the competition across the board. These tires long for icy patches and eat them for breakfast. LOL

Anyhow, before you decide, find a dealer who is carrying them and get some real world pricing. Now may be the time to get these tires. Nokian's have only been available in the US since the 90's or so (been making tires since 1939 and now for high performance cars where winter/ice/wet are the norm -- think audi's with Z-rated snow tires for starters!) and do not carry the name branding yet that our American company's tout. without that name recognition, Nokia tires need to gain their place of the marketshare...they do this with killer pricing on tires that exceed the competition in performance. Before long, that price is going to go out the window when people start using these tires. Just my two worthless cents.

Yeah, those prices are jacked up way too high. (Unless they include shipping, mounting, balancing, etc..) and it is still high.
I compared my tires (not MTR). I got mine for $120 per tire, which is listed as $160 over there. That's %35 difference. I paid $25 for bunch of other crap, made it $145.

Hey Pote, Vatiivas got much better after 1k on them. All that's left is just the difference of deep tread versus unevenly eaten tread on my old tires. Otherwise, I have been taking some turns much faster than I did with my old tires, these started performing better.

Sweeet Hyedipin...that's good news. Strange that these things actually get stickier and stickier the more they wear, but that's how they are engineered. I can't wait for the snow and ice to fly...that's where these will really shine. You being in NY and me in OH, we should have some good winter driving stories to share come January!! 8) 8) I'be been putting them through the paces the last few days in cold rain. Purposely drove through some standing water on the highways and they have been outstanding. My old tires would pull to the side and seem to float when hitting standing water and I would almost crap myself...these just plowed through and I never felt the tires leave the pavement. cornering in the rain was the same...they just grip like mad, no chirping, sliding or fishtailing like my old tires. So far I'm really happy with these. I ultimately like the KO/Grabber tread pattern for LOOKS, but I drive a long way on the highways everyday including lots of driving with my two little boys (4 and 5 yrs old) and the looks of a tread pattern are trumped by safety and great bad weather traction. Offroad is completely secondary in my life at the moment and gets done very little. One caveat I had was I wanted an AT tire with a nice square shoulder and more aggressive look than most all-season tires....these fit that bill perfectly. Bring it on Mr. Winter!!!!! (Last time I said that we got 4 feet of snow in a single night here... Though my KJ performed like a champion. )
