I talked to a guy this weekend who just put some buck shots on his YJ and said the rubber compound is to hard?
I dont quite know what he means but I think he is refering to them not griping well on hard surfaces like a softer ruber will
Keep in mind this is not refering to the C vs E range strength but rather the ruber it self is hard ,long wear
I know that super swampers have soft ruber and thus dont wear well but grip like crazy on rocks
Goodyears are not quite as soft but only last 35-40K Buckshots last 50K+ but dont grip the rocks well but also dont get trashed afte 10 trail rides in the rocks

who knows
I have superswamper LTB's on the TJ
I drive ~4K miles a year so they will dry rot befor I wear them out
The wife has MTR's on the KJ and drive 10K+ a year so she will wear out the tread befor they rot
The MTR's tend to do better on hard packed dirt then the swampers ,stop on very very steep hill and you can take off with almost no wheel spin with the MTR's do that with the swampers and you will dig a 8" hole and still not move
now drop the swampers to 14psi and they grip the rocks like as if they wer big hands and I need not say what happens when we get into mud

so far i'm satisfied with the buckshots. on wet & dry pavement they have pretty good grip. i've also had them off road in some mud, nothing serious, but i didn't even need 4wd.

no pictures yet...i know, i've had them on since wednesday.....i'm a slacker :?

i had the buckshot bias on my f150 and they worked awesome and i had the bighorns on my wranger and they preformed extremely well off road and they grip very well on ther rocks. buck shots are a lil quiter than the bighorns

I ran 245's and 265's on my 2002 and loved them...price was great...resistance to cuts was great...airing down E rated worked great...nothing bad to say.

The Big Horns sdo look a bit more aggressive...a few of the Aussies have thme mounted and they look great!

Maxxis in general makes a good tire...bikes, motorcycles, go-karts and offroad.
