Hey Guys,

The tire light went on in my jeep.

I got two new tires on my 05 liberty. Everything was cool.

Didnt drive the Jeep this weekend and the tire light went on again.

Is it really a sensative sensor?

Any info would be good.

Thanks!

Just make sure all of your tires are roughly the same psi. I believe if they are within a few pounds of each other it'll be fine. Don't forget to check the spare.

If all of your tires are the same then I'd bet the people who put your two tires on broke one of your sensors. Was your light coming on prior to changing the tires? Could be a faulty sensor to begin with.

I had a dealer forget to replace the sensor after an accident destroyed my rim. The computer said I had a low tire!

the light will go off if all the tires aren't within 10% of the factory recommended pressure. so basically, between 30 and 36 psi, it'll go off. i'ts getting colder everywhere, so tire pressures are getting lower everywhere.

Also, if you have aluminum wheels and they didn't sand or wire brush the corrosion off your wheels, you could have a leak. Any GOOD tire shop will take care of that for you when they install your tires, but some are stupid and will try to charge you again.

in a lot of sensors, the valve core supposedly acts as an antenna (I don't buy it...), and it can mess with it. My biggest gripe about the metal valve caps on any stem, not just TPMS stems, is that if left on for any period during salty season up north, they'll corrode and sieze on the stem.
