What is the difference when trying to read these two types of tire sizes? 33X12.5RR16.5 (32.6") vs 285/75RR16 (32.8") Will the first fit the Moabs? |

16.5 inch radius will NOT fit a 16 inch rim, the difference is measurement system, US vs. metric |

Tokyojoe wrote: What is the difference when trying to read these two types of tire sizes? Standard tire size---33x12.50R16.5 = 33" tall,12.50" section width,"R" is radial tire, and 16.5 is the rim diameter.
33X12.5RR16.5 (32.6") vs 285/75RR16 (32.8") Will the first fit the Moabs? Metric tire sizes----285/75R16 = 285 is the tread width in MM,75 is the sidewall height given in a % of the tread width(75% of 285mm),"R" is radial tire, and 16 is the rim diameter. So no the first tire you listed will not work on your 16" MOAB's. |
