yea ive read up on them from their website and reviews from other places.

I like them alot because of the tread design, but i dont need all the extra ice traction since i would never use it, mainly curious on tread life...

Hi-tec retreading can do your retreads with this material. I did not realize that they were a stand -alone comapany, too, though. A check of their website shows most of their stock to be "sold out."

absolutely not, The Geolander MT is just out of production in a lot of sizes

Why would you get a retread 31x1050 AT for $130 a pop (pun intended) when you can get a good, NEW 31x1050 AT for LESS?

their AT looks like a Bstone Revo and the CT looks familiar, but I can't place it...

actually they changed their name and its not Hi-tec any more its something else but their old website forwards you to the new one for now. Same company new name.

Thank you for your interest in Green Diamond Tires (GDTs) and the M/T in particular. We actually ship GDTs into Florida and any number of the southern states because of the wet roadway traction that the carbide affords. That said, the M/Ts are not noted for their wet weather performance… rather they are a very serious deep snow and winter rock crawling tread. I run the M/Ts on all of my company vehicles plus my Defender 110. M/Ts are the tread of choice for Pinzgauers owners here in the rocky mountains. I also run them on my delivery truck… a Dodge Ram 2500 (Dana 60 lockers front / Dana 80 lockers rear) that often gets loaded up with 1,500 – 2,000+ lbs of GDTs… PLUS it tows a trailerload of GDTs weighing in at around 7k lbs. These M/Ts are absolute beasts.

We build them using a 45,000 mile tread compound. My personal experience is that on the delivery truck, I get about 30k. On the Defender… I am still on my first set and I have 2 seasons and 37k miles on them. I would imagine that for your Jeep Liberty, the 40k miles is very attainable and that is even if you run off-road. These are very hearty GDTs. This is not applicable to your region however the M/Ts are also gaining acceptance as the ‘snow-plow’ tire of choice in the snow belt states.

While we only build GDTs in an ‘E’ load rating (10 ply), we did build several sets in a ‘D’ load rating (8 ply) and so it would be my suggestion that you consider the LT265/75R16-D for your Liberty. The ‘D’s air down nicely and are not so harsh on the road for a daily driver. I only have the ‘D’s here in Colorado so if you order, you would need to select the western USA from the map page. You would order the ‘E’ and then specify ‘D’ (if you so choose) in the comments field and I will credit back $10. Per tire. There are only 11 of the ‘D’ in the US and they are all here in Colorado.

sounds good to me, I used to work for a company that did retreading actually they still do and if done right will last for a long time. I keep looking at these as an alternative, interesting tidbit of info on the 8 and 10 plys.
If everything goes to plan I will be looking at 265 next spring and will give them a second look for sure!
