Anyone have the TripleTreds on their Liberty? I'm contemplating buying these in 235/70/16's for my Renegade compared to 245/70/16 BFG AT's. Not sure which to go with. I was looking on tire rack and they say because of the Load D rating on the BFG's, the ride may be harsher. I think the BFG's looker better on a Renegade but don't want the increased MPG's. I don't do any off roading, just mostly highway driving and want a good tire for snow. Anyone have any suggestions?

We put them on our Tribute, and they seem like a good tire. Ihave been very happy with the ride and the wet traction. We haven't had any snow or ice since we got them so I can't comment on that.

Despite having been a Goodyear fan since I first started driving. With having said that let me say I found these tires disapointing they were OK on drive pavement but during the multiple blizards Colorado got last December these tires were not that great. In July I replaced them with Dunlop Rover A/T's 235/70-16 I'm already impressed with both the wet and drive performance. Haven't had a good enough snowpack yet to play properly. But I do like the way they ride and handle so far. I just last week was talking to a Goodyear saleman and he said some cars handle different tires differently, he said the Forteras were great on Subarus but some tires and vehicles match up better. To each their own Best of Luck

Thanks for the help guys! I ended up purchasing 4 Goodyear TripleTreds. The reason why is I don't want my MPG's to get any worse and I also don't want to loose any power from the bigger tires. I'm also afraid of putting an extra stress on powertrain parts like my tranny. I already got a new one put in by the dealer.

have the tripletred GY Forteras and love them particularly in wet conditions. Got em based upon Cons Reports 2005 review of All Season passenger tires... rated No 1 for the tripletred passenger tires so I got the SUV Fortera version. No hydroplaning and even better than my snows for water siping...

I had the GY Fortera's HL's before based upon Consumer Rep's SUV/truck No 1 rating in 2004 who compare them side by side for wet, dry, handling braking emergency etc etc objectively and found them good too. I had the stock GoodYear ST, GSA and also the Michelin Arctic Ice snows. The Trips grip as well as my snows and are very quiet. I highway mostly and city with little or no off roading.

My advice is that the ratings on the tire shop sites are fine but are subjective to the individual based upon their past tire usage and don't measure them objectively... it's like I like KJ's while others like Escapes... all opinions and everybody has one...

It is all about the rubber as I feel they are a vital part of the vehicles safety systems. There are only a few square inches of contact between your vehicle and the road... so I rely heavily on Cons Report testing so don't cheap out on tires.

They also rated Mich X Ice as the top snow. The Lattitude X Ice is for SUVs.

The GY are a good all season tire but you should get dedicated snows as tire rubber gets harder the colder it gets but winter tires have a softer compound which gives you better grip. that is why I run winter tires... use the search function

Hare on my Chest

I got my new TripleTred's installed on 12/30 and they are awesome! They handle 100 times better than the stock ones and are much quieter. I'm waiting for some hard rain and heavy snow to really test them out. I just hope their performance last past 25K miles unlike the stock ones.
