Post subject:  Help with purchase of Tires and Rims

Hi, I have an 02 pre-lowered Liberty and looking to buy some mud terrain tires and black steel/alloy rims. I will be lifting at the time I get the wheels, I probably wont do any offroading as I live in the city and my schedule really dosen't allow me the time. I would like to go with the widest and tallest tire possible. I have been reading a lot of the post and so far have come up with this:

Tires size- 31x10.5
Rim size- 16x8 w/ 5 inch back spacing or
15 x8 w/ 5 inch back spacing

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks.[/i]

if u dont do any off roading i would go with ATs and not MTs. less noise and will last u alot longer plus they are normaly cheaper. thats just my 2 cents on it. i know MTs look better but for u dont seem that practical.

for the lift I went OME HD coils, Rancho front struts and OME rear shock for about $600 w/ shipping

yea if your not offroading just get the OME coils, medium and HD depending on how firm you like the ride then stuff in some 245/75 tires in. I recommend either the geolander AT-S tires or the BFG KO A/T tires

any pounding or trimming required with the OME 2'' lift and the Crager soft 8's 245/75r16 with BFG A/T KO's?

You will most likely HAVE to pound the pinch weld with 245/75/16s (~30.5")...

If you go with 235/75/16s (~29.85") you won't have to pound the pinch weld...ie. with stock wheels and backspacing

yep, darby's correct.

for a 16" wheel, you'll have to take action with the pinch weld.
if your going to run 15" wheen, you may not have to.
i run a 31x10.50 on a 15" wheel, and the pinch weld would not get in the way,
although ive already adjusted it previously.
