Thinking about getting a set in 245/75/R16. Have looked online at tire stores and the shipping would kill me. Local stores are still expensive. Found I could get the MTR's in load range E (online) for $155.00 + free shipping from Walmart. May go this route. Maybe someone else could use this information. Aloha |

Check out your local off-road forums for MTR for sale. Check out Craigslist. |

why do the ones for 155 say "Sidewall Cosmetics: Blackwall, solid line" and the ones for 210 say "Sidewall Cosmetics: Outline Letters (other than Black)" does this mean the dont say Goodyear MTR on them?? maybe thats why they are so cheap. i couldnt find any other diff in the 2 |

One thing to note when buying tires from Walmart is that often times in store they will not sell you tires that are not the factory recommended size. 245/75/16 is of course larger than factory. I figure if you order the tires through their website and pick them up in the store you can probably get around this. Worst case you can't get them installed onsite |

Yes there are tire companies that will not install tires which are different sizing than original. I am going to buy new wheels also, so I will take my wheels there and they will mount them. |

Holy Resurection, Batman! I just wanted to mention how I got my 245/75/r16 MT/R's: It took about a month, some patience, and some help from the fine folks at LOST, but I have pieced together 4 MT/R's that have 0 miles on them. They still have the nubbies in place on the tread. I have a 5th MT/R coming that measures 17/32 of tread left, so it is virtually new ( my spare). I also have a 6th MT/R that looks to have at least 1/2 tread left to use as a spare for my spare. All 6 tires will cost me less then 3 MT/R's at Walmart prices. Only you can decide if the time involved and the e-legwork involved is worth any savings to you. It took a lot of looking on Craigslist, some Ebay action, and checking the for sale sections on this & other boards. Obviously, this method will not work if you are in a hurry. But it seems that many Rubi owners upgrade and have either never rotated their spare onto the ground, or changed tires before they needed to rotate. Either way, at least 3 of my 4 good-as-new tires were spares off of Rubi's. I just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone else wanted to give it a try. I only went this way after I was unable to get a 5th Timberline M/T for a spare as they have been discontinued. I could have changed sizes & got 5 new tires, but their being discontinued worried me should I destroy one & need a replacement. Some sales fell in place, and I started making the MT/R's my quest. |

A friend of mine encountered that problem at costco with his Explorer. Btw, where in Hawaii do you live? |

I live on Maui. I ordered my tires through Wal Mart and they mounted them on my aftermarket wheels. Raining this morning (we need it). |

Cool, that's a steal for the tires, especially out there. I own property on Oahu. |
