Post subject:  FIRESTONE BACKS THERE TIRES!

HI EVERYONE,
in november of 2005 i bought firestone destination le's (P225/75R16) now 2 years later and 29000 miles
im riding on the wear bars, so i go up to firestone today to show them and they looked and said no problem, they gave me
300.00 dollar credit for new tires!! but i had to stay with in the limit of what is required from the factory, so i bought a set of destination at's (P235/70R60), not what i wanted but i got 4 new tires mounted and balanced and a alignment for 300.00!!! I WOULD OF LIKED (P245/75/16) BUT FOR NOW THAT WITHIN MY BUDGET!!!!

Cool. Always nice getting something for free. :D Nice to know that since I got the same tires too. Although, I only put 15K miles on them.

I'm leaning towards the 235/65R17 Destination LE's my local Firestone treats me right and as long as I do the FREE rotations every 5k miles I am sure they will honor the guarantee on the miles.

if you are not lifted, the 247/75s would not fit under your rig anyhow. Glad they took care of you...however, I know you are locked into their warranty, but good god, I wouldn't be putting the same brand of tire that wore out after 29000 miles...that's really low miles. What did they say was the reason for two year old tires with 29K on them being worn to the indicator bars????...sounds like an inferior product. What were the other tires rated for as far as mileage? I would think 50 or 60K???

I disagree, you CAN fit 245/75s under a nonlifted kj. I did the day I brought it home. Just had to do some MINOR trimming. All was good.

well we'll have to agree to disagree...every 245/75 tire I've seen is at least a half inch over 30" tires....all are 30.5+".....that said, yours must be the only KJ around that can fit a tire bigger than a 30" height on a stock suspension. most people have serious rub issues going anywhere near 30" let alone over 30 inches without a lift....consider yourself very lucky. Put it this way too, many people get rub with going over 29.5" on stock setups....what tires do you run at 247/75??

they never gave me a reason why the tires were bad! and i went with the at's because they were rated number one on tire racks survey!!!!
