I have just installed the Frankenlift II Premium. I have removed all of the plastic wheel well liner. The front bumper is trimmed in front of the tire and the bumper will be replaced with a steel one at the end of next month. I had NO rubbing with my 245/75/17" tires after mods were done. Until I get my 4.10's what is the biggest tire size I can run on my 17" rims? Terry |

I'd write down the height/width of the 16-inchers that are known to fit with that lift, hop onto www.tirerack.com , & then pull up the specs for the 17-inchers to find a comparable size. Sometimes the same size can vary by almost a 1/2" from design to design, and that site will let you explore several options to get a close fit. |

Thanks, I'll check them out. I was hoping that someone on here had taken their liners out and already figured this out. I know I gained some space there. I don't really know how much. If a larger fits will it clear everything else. Might have to spend a day trying different tires at some unlucky dealer! Terry |

looks like you've got a 30.7" tie with the 245/75r17 (based on dayton timberline mt specs). since i ran 32" 235/85r16's, i think i'd try a 265/70r17. it would give you a 31.9" tire, although the tread width is 9.3 vs 7.0, so I hope you either have spacers or a different offset (I ended up rubbing just a hair on the inner weld rear of the axel at full lock (not sure the official name). Anyways that will pick you up an extra 6/10 inch of ride height. Plus if you move to a "D" or "E" rated tire, the sidewall wont flex as much and will give you even more height (although it will ride like a TJ at that point, and you'll have to air down to 10-14 psi on the trail if you want them to grab  ). When I jumped to the "E" rated MT's I got an additional 1/2 inch more than I figured, and the tire guys told me it was the sidewall lack of flex...

If I went with 265/70's, with spacers, would they clear the flairs? I have 1.5" spacers. The thought of knocking the flairs off a lot is not a good one!

Terry Well, I don't know. The only way to figure that one out is to put them on, disconnect, jack up each side, and insert a proper sized spacer. this will limit the upward travel, but you will still get the full droop and improved breakover. I can say that the 235/85's did not pop the FRONT flairs . and the clips for the back are only a buck each (I didn't add extra bumpstop spacers, just what AllJ sent with the Franky, so had I done it right, I shouldn't have poped them - just too gung-ho about wheeling the thing)
