I would say the extra $20 per tire is for the extra width. It doesn't seem like much, but it is. Also keep in mind that a wider, heavyer tire will add a small hit to the MPG- not like an MT will, but it will have more rolling resistance. What kind of wheeling do you do? If you get a lot of mud or sand, I'd do the 245's - rock or snow, they 225's. Not that the .9" difference will be that much, but it would help float you in some situations and bite in others.
Anyways, just go ahead and lift it and go with the 32's

Most wheeling is limited to existing trails (packed dirt or gravel). No crawling, no deep mud (if avoidable). I'm in Georgia, so the natural soil is red clay that turns into a gooey adhesive mess when wet (so no help short of MT's there...). Some light/medium towing is encountered, but nothing heavy enough to make the decision for me. I mostly want something that's durable, appropriate for any terrain that I'm likely to encounter, and will last a really long time. I would like to retain my 20+ fuel economy if possible, too, since most of my miles are on-road.
