http://tyres1.com/browse/browseW.html

Item#:
84-5712PL
Model:
US WHEEL BLACK DAYTONA
Manufacturer:
U.S. Wheel
Specifications:
rim diameter: 15"
rim width: 7"
back spacing: 4.5"
offset: +12mm

15x7 4.5 w/ 4.5" backspacing black d-window. Not as sexy as a Soft 8, but I just thought I'd throw this out there... At $41/ea, these would be a cheap alterantive for some 31x10.5's.

I just got a set of Cragar Soft 8 16x7's (full set of 5) for 199.96 shipped from Quadratec. It included a 10% military discount, but that would still put you in the 220 range shipped, which is only about 10 bucks more than those are without shipping. And you wouldn't have to worry about caliper clearance issues. Just call Quadratec (1-800-745-2348) and ask then to match 4wheelparts.com's free shipping, and buy 3 get 1 free deals (4WP's cost 20 bucks more a pop, but that doesn't matter).

Plus you get the sexy rims you really want!

**edit** if there are any issues give 'em my order # to verify the deal. Shouldn't be Q-tec has always had great customer service IMHO. (order # is P1519279)

Bought 15x8 Unique Steel seris 297(same as soft 8's) from Discount Tires for $38 per rim so the 15x7 rimes should be a few dollars cheaper then that.

The most interesting part of this to me was the 15" diameter and 7" width with that much backspacing. You find it on the 8' rims pretty easy, but 7" is said to be better for someone looking to run 31x10.5's. On 16" the so called "FWD off-set" is pretty common, it seems.

my 15s barely fit around the brake calipers with 3.5 backspacing. Dont think 4.5 will fit.

Chris
4.75" BS on 15" steel rims will fit on a KJ.There is a person on this board running that BS on 15" rims and they fit.

4.75" BS with a 15"X8"or 7" wheel will fit the KJ? TJKJ do you thihnk you would be able to stuff the tires past the flare if you were running a 31/10.5/15? And who was it that was running this setup?

I'm running the 15x7 with no offsett...(3.5in backspace), if I had been able to source a rim with a positve offset, I probably would have bought it, but, I couldn't at the time, I have a Good amount of lift, and bumpstops, running 31/10.5/15's Mickey Thompson MTZ's, I just get a slight rub on the Right hand side where my pinch weld was, and with the bumpstops have good articulaion, and no contact with the rear flares. BUT, another guy down here in Oz tried exactly the same wheels and tyres and so far, has not made it work, he still needs bumpstops and more lift, also his is the CRD and from what I can see the front ends seem a slight bit different in the CRD to the petrol when it comes to castor adjustment. He is currently see what he can do to get a rim with more backspacing, or getting his rims adjusted down here.

I always say....if you REALLY want to know what IS and what ISN'T going to work on YOUR KJ, best thing to do is

(A)....see if there is someone close by that has what you are running and see if they will let you try the wheels on your car..

(B)... see if your wheel/tyre supplier is nice enough to do a TEST FITTING for you, so as once again, you can actually SEE the combo ON YOU KJ.

These wheels and tyres are expensive things so it pays to get it right the first time.
