For you guys looking for a tire in between an A/T and a M/T, this might just be it. I have heard good reviews on them in the past on other sites.

I looked into these, and they have a really good reputation. They are what I was pricing when I got the super high qoute from discount.

Probably have to check around for better pricing. Their site has a listing for dealers.

I have a set of these on the F-150 and they have proven to be fantastic tires. Iv gotten almost 45,000 miles out of them and i still have about 10,000 left to go.

they are also great off road, get a good grip on multiple surfaces. quality tires.

Anyone that has a Benny's near them check their prices. They carry Cooper tires (including the ST's) and they are cheaper than most places.

Prices keep going up on everything, so taking your time to shop around for the best deal is a necessity.

In Oct. of 04, my TrXus M/T's were $129.00 ea., this past year the same tire was $151.00. So, I settled this past Summer for 5 Buckshot XMT Mudders in a 6 ply with 3 ply sidewalls and full sipping in 265/75/16 for $99.00 ea., that look very similar to the new Maxis Bighorns.

Saving $260.00 over what I originally wanted changed my mind in a hurry.

The name of the Co. is "Gateway Tire and Service Center". Here is a link for there Cinci. Store. http://www.dktire.com/stores/oh/Cincinnati.htm
You can call the store to get information and pricing.

I was looking at those Cooper STs too. I think when my MTRs wear out, I want something in between an AT and MT and those seemed to fit the bill.

Nick, that XMT mudder is kind of between AT and MT right? Maybe a little more on the MT side then the Cooper ST, but not a true MT. Correct me if I'm wrong. How do you like those tires?

Nick, the guy at the cincy store didn't know what a XMT was.....

I was just curious. I already have a deposit on some 235/85's. I JUST NEED TO GET MY LIFT ON!!!

The Buckshot XMT Mudder is almost identical in looks to the Maxis Bighorn, even has the 3 ply sidewalls, full sipping, and it is a mud tire.

The Cooper S/T is in between AT & MT, but carries a mud and snow rating.

If you're OK with having a 4-ply tire, Cooper make the S/Ts in a p-metric, too, that weighs less than 40lbs at 245/75/16. I'm not sure of the exact weight at this size, but I talked to cooper about 265/75/16s for my Tacoma and the P-metric weighs 40lbs and the 6-ply load range C tire weighs 47lbs at that size.

I think I'm going to put the C's on my truck where I need the load capacity and put the P's on my Jeep where I really just need the traction.

I researched these tires a bit and posted some info about them here:

They cost around $235 AUSD each, one of the more exy tyres over here but worth the extra dosh IMO.

They're quite cheap over here in the States. I think it's because they're made here. For some reason or other, they're not too popular here. People swear by BFG AT/KO here for their all-terrain needs. Here, BFGs tend to run about $200 mounted and balanced for 265/75/16 while Cooper S/Ts are about $145 for that size in load range C and about $110 for P-metric. (I did the bulk of my research with my truck in mind. I don't plan to put 32" tires on my KJ.) I read lots of reviews and most compare the Cooper to the AT/KO, using the BFG as the "control," and they all seem to agree that the Cooper is just as capable and of the same quality. Seems the Coopers have really caught in in Australia and were even designed for there. They're just not as popular here for whatever reason.
