I dont know for sure I know that Explorer's have 5 on 4.5 just like TJ's you could simply remove a wheel from 1 of the 2 SUVs in question and take the spare from the other and see what happens |

She needs new tires and I want bigger tires and soft 8's, so I was hopping I could give her mine and get me new ones! |

The bolt pattern matches but the backspacing is different. I think it can be done but the tires will probably stick out. |

Hmmm.... I wonder if it would still work, she has some room and they're not much taller than her stock ones....... I'll have to bit the bullet and just try it! |

The tires on my wife's 2002 Escape are 235/70R16. According to your sig your tires are that size. |

backspacing on Escapes and '02+ Explorers is almost dead nuts on what our KJs have, but the center hole is different (chrysler hole is bigger than the Ford hub...found that out when I got free Exploder wheels and tried them on my KJ. didn't want to take a die grinder to the wheel) |

My wife's escape came with 225/75/15's so she would have to have new rims to fit mine. |

not DANGEROUS, really, but most wheels (Fords and Chryslers, in this case) are hub-centric, and you *should* have a wheel that has a center hole sized appropriately. most aftermarket wheels are lug centric, especially aftermarket steelies that aren't compatible with hub-centric rings. You may have a vibration problem, but other than that it shouldn't be unsafe. I say try it. |

Oh, that's cool to know that the tires would fit. I just wish she had 16" rims. I'll have to look into buying her some 16's soon. I'd really like to have Soft 8's and at least 31's before the May run in Ohio. |
