Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 245/75/16

I love these tires! I have them wrapped around some Cragar black soft 8's and they look sweet. But what I wanted to know is if they would fit on my KJ without lifting it? I'm pretty sure they wont, but it just looks so close. I'm new to the whole jeep thing so I don't know a whole lot about this stuff, so I thought I would ask the experts. Thanks

Nope, I'm afraid they will not fit an unlifted Liberty. Max you can go is 245/70R16.

yes they will fit, but you will need major trimming, and you basically have no room to stuff in the rear. these are on Moabs, so the backspacing may be different than the cragars. I only had it like this for a day before getting the lift in.

I had to make wideeeeeeeeeeeeee turns. but if you trim enough plastic, probably all of it, it will work. But in all thoughts of sanity, if you wanna run a MTR on a Lib, might as well get a lift

The question is which one are you gong to get? Frankenlift has my vote.

how did you mount the tiny liberty bell on your light bar in the bottom pic? for times when the horn is just too boring!!

For the record on this. They will fit on the 05+ KJs with MINOR trimming. I ran mine for about three months like that until I lifted it. I just had to pound the punch weld down and cut a little bit off the front bottom edge of the bumper.

Everything will sag over time. (see grandma as a good example). I have had my Rusty's lift for 3 yrs and no issues. Some not so lucky and others no problems. Frankenlift is the best lift though.

It's safer for the tires, yes. And just kind of fun to take a BFH to your Jeep.

I wish I had a picture of what happens when you park our KJ with OME Med springs and 245/75 MTR's next to a KJ with a Rustys spring lift and 30 X 9.5 BFG's
I know that the rustys lift is rated a 2.5" and the OME at only 1.75" and the MTR's are 30.5" and the BFG's are 29.5"
but our KJ is noticeably higher we should ,according to the numbers, be .25" lower but we sit almost 1" higher
not to mention he is running the famous soft 8's in a 15 X 7 flavor and has much more rubbing than we do

So it is possible that a 245/75/16 might fit on a stock non lifted with some modifying?

I really like the new Goodyear Wrangler AT tire, my problem is the dont make a 245/70/16 just a 75. The only other size is 225/75/16.

What I want in a tire is a very aggressive AT but not a MT so this tire seems to be my best bet. Just trying to figure if I am better off with these in 225 then another AT in a 245/70? Orginally I was hoping to mount a set of the 245 up and just hammer down some clearance but without a lift and with the CRD im thinking there is no way they fit no matter how big my hammer is. :wink:

If you want to run 245-75-16s and drive it everyday you need a lift pure and simple. People post up remarks like yes I have done it , but look at the pictures , how did they even go over a speed bump? Come on get real , unless you have a 2002 with no miles on it then its not a wise idea, at least I would not want to try it, either lift or find a size that is about 29.5 inches tall like a 225-75-16 /245-70-16 / 30-9.50-15 etc

Thats what I thought. Just trying to figure out what will perfrom better for me, a really aggressive 225/75/16 or a less aggressive 245/70/16. I think I am leaning towards the 225.
