I'm looking to order some Soft 8's and tires this week and want to make sure things will fit. What I looking at getting are some Cragar 16x7 soft 8's with 4.0" BS, 5x4.5 pattern with Firestone Destination AT 255/70/16's. Will this setup work with out rubbing? ** Also if anyone out there knows, will Cragar 16x7 Soft 8's with 4.0" BS, 5x4.5 pattern with Firestone Destination AT 235/70/16's work on a 2003 Ford Escape (Wife's truck) I can't find information about this anywhere! ** |

I have the wheels you are talking about in that same spec with 245/75/16 Buckshots under a BDS lift. Though my pinch welds were pounded down long ago and I had already heated up the plastic under the fog light door I get slight rubbing (on the pavement) under the fog light door when the wheel is cranked all the way one way or the other and I trimmed the lower corners of the plastic air dam under the bumper as the knobs on the tread we're catching on it. I went wheelin a few days after I put the tires and lift on and got no rubbing off road.

Thanks Modular, I think I'll give the 255/70's a shot. Hopefully I'll be ordering all the rims and tires tomorrow! |

Use your KJ's wheels. the Soft 8s with a 4" BS will NOT work on an Escape. |

No problem! Sometimes I'm good for more than bad information and worse puns |

Alright, so I found the wife some nice looking 16" OEM alloys for $65 each. So Sat I'll be driving back and forth to the shop to transfer tires around. She'll be getting the 235's and I have a set of 255/70's going on mine. |
