A moment of silence for the Dayton Timberline M/T

Well, two sources have confirmed that the Timberline M/T is no more. As stock sells out, that is it. Althouth the A/T was re-designed, there is apprarently no replacement for the M/T.

I got the last 4 in my size in the warehouse that stocks this area . They are are trying to scrounge a 5th for a spare.

Oh, this really sux. This was the best tire on the market IMHO.

Moose, I had to go to Union Tire in Englewood & put a deposit on them. They are holding them for me. The warehouse was out & they had the last 4!

There are probably some elswhere in the country. I will probably have to pay for one to be shipped.

Dayton Tire Sales here in Dayton has 6 of the 235/85r16 Timberline MT's in stock. The guy I talked to today didn't know anything about it being discontinued...

Too late for me. At that point I figured that if they could not get me another 235/85, no one could. I went on my MT/R quest to see what would happen, got some good deals on here & craigslist, and then wound up with 4 new MT/R's & 2 outsanding spares.

That's unfortunate...Great tire, great price. It will be missed by many.

It is almost the same as the Firestone Destination M/T if you didn't know, a subsidiary or something. Also, you must not know about Maxxis Tires.

Actually, I am familiar with the Buckshots & Bighorn's. I was trying to use a tire that was recommened by someone whose opinion I trust and, at the same time, patronize a local shop so that there are still local shops left to keep the big guys honest. The Firestone guys around here didn't even have a Destination M/T in the showroom and they are not worth $50 more per tire than what the Timberline's were going for, anyway.

Bottom line is that they are so similar the the Destination MT's it's crazy. And, I did finally see that Q2 of 2008 is it for the Timberline MT. I guess once mine run their life, I'll start looking for something else...
