I have 5 16x8 Moab rims I picked up for $300 and want to run 265 maxxis bighorns. Possible or not? Would 245's work out better. Will I need to take out the plastic fender welds to run the 265's on moabs? I'm on stock steelies and wrangler tires!!! Help!! :( Tight clearance with stock tire between spare and rear glass so how do you mount a large spare?

you can run 265-75s but it will hurt your mileage a bit unless you go lower gears as well. Most if not all of the inner fender will need to come out. I see you have a lift on order since you would need it. Running 245-75s will work good with little work to be done besides the lift. With Moabs and 245-75 x16 MTRs I would not of even had to of knocked down my pinch weld but did just in case. with everything said it depends on how you want it to look.
for the spare I have a 245-75 hanging there and still have lots of room

Thanks Tom, mpg is important. I keep thinking "GO BIG" especially with these bighorns and will go 4:10's in the future. Right now I scrape every rock on the trail.

with a tire that size you really need 4.56's to get good MPG ,this will NEVER happen in a 4wd KJ
with 245/75's and 4.10's you are as good as stock ,until you add all the "extras"

Our KJ ,well really it belongs to my wife, gets about 16+ ALL CITY and I can pull 20+ ALL HIGHWAY
running 245/75 MTR's ,not bad but the only extras we have are skids
I can get 19+ on the highway with 3 adults 1 baby and the entire back LOADED FULL of stuff just have to drive it right

Yea, I figured I lose some torque with 245's and more so with 265's: needed a confirmation that 265's were not going to happen yet with stock 373's and as you pointed out 4:56's are not going to happen for us. I need clearance and good MTR's to overcome obstacles on the trail. :D
