Looks like they'ed clean out pretty good, i personally dont really care for the barbed wire on the sidewall, I'd probably end up doing something stupid like trying to paint the barbs with a chrome paint pen and look more like an idiot than i already do :lol:

From the sounds of it you guys have had pretty good luck with 3 ply sidewalls so I guess that isn't really an issue, I think I liked those granite rims better than the tires themselves

could be a decent mt/at hybrid... might have been made with more show than go in mind though.

i bet they would work really well. my dad runs the mickey thompson MTZ's and loves them.. they are very very close to this tread wise. these even have a bit more space between the lugs i'd say. i would bet the performance on and offroad is very good from these tires

i hate the barbed wire though.

On a positive note, it might be a good compromise between on-road and off-road usage. However, I have a feeling it isn’t going to sell as well as the KM2’s. I’m wondering if Goodyear isn’t trying to regain some attention due to other tire companies coming in and stealing the show. As T-Junkie would say, “Just sayin’……………..”

My thoughts too. Those KM2s are really popular and the MTRs are older now and Goodyear needs another hit tire. We'll see how they really perform. I haven't found any actual photos or info besides that single pic I posted.

Yeah info on them seems to be hidden and hard to find. They do remind me of the MTZs and SSTs though.

What's the advantage of having all of the lugs beveled off on the corners? Seems like that'd be less grippy on rocks...

I'd worry about the barbed wire puncturing the sidewalls... :roll:

there are some other tires out there that have bullets on the side and some others that have skulls or something... dont remember what tires though, but seriously... :roll:

The rounded off edges probably cut down on road noise. At first I was thinking maybe they built them like we used to do the tires on our tractors for tractor pulls. Brand new tires don't pull worth squat, so you either tie it to a tree and spin them off, or use a die grinder to cut them down, or a combination of both. Sharp edges of tread roll towards the direction the tire is rotating giving less traction where the worn tire grabs the ground where it can and the sidewall flexes instead of the tread itself.
Maintaining a combination of large and small voids while keeping the tread cleats from rolling should give better traction all around.

but..

I think they did it for noise, the stepping in the lugs on the edges would be great for flinging large stones at the jeep behind you :lol:

NEW Goodyear F.A. Tires - they really do what they say.

Excluding the Goodyear MT/Rs, Goodyears on a vehicle are a rolling deathwish. This is just from my humble, and sometimes terrifying, experiences with various Goodyears.

Only tires i ever really disliked was a set of bias bfg a/t's, wouldn't ballance over 45 mph. Had a bad enough vibration at 60 that i was constantly losing molding screws. 3 weeks after switchin them out with a set of street tires it rebelled, blew a tire and mowed down a telephone pole, shouldn't have been driving a bronco II anyway :evil:

the "Fierce" line is Goodyear's cheap stuff.

And if you've never had a positive experience with Goodyear's tires, stop buying cheapass tires. They make some VERY good tires...but in most cases, unless you drop 160+ a corner for rubber, you will be SERIOUSLY disappointed in Goodyears. the Silent Armor, MT/R, new Eagle GT, the old ResponsEdge...all VERY good tires. Basically, don't pay off-brand prices and expect Michelin performance
