Ok, so my wrangler ST are coming to an end. I don't have a lift on my KJ and i might not be able to afford one for a while. Gas, living expenses and college loans are kicking my booty and my pocket. so what tire are out there that are good for my 05 KJ. I mean I would like some All terrain tires, that i could use for offroad and good enough for street use, without having to change the rims and putting on a lift. Like i have said before i dont know much about car, doo doo i just got my drivers license. and i wish i had the money for all the cool stuff my kj, but i guess it gonna be one by one. and priority comes first. im need to tires sooon.. thanks. |

go up in size to a 245 70 X16 and get Firestone Destination ATs or Kumho KLs they do a great job also and are cheaper but run good, several will chime in and help you spend your money foolishly!!!!!! |

so that size will fit the kj without a lift and will fit the stock rim. that just made my day. dont know my kj needs something. attitude bigger tires will start that. too bad i cant get a lift any time soon. |

MT won't drive as smoothly (or quietly) on the highways. So be honest with yourself about your driving habbits and then choose the tire that best suits your needs. I run the Destination A/T's and love them. I don't think I would ever have a reason to need anymore tire than what I have now. |

The Destination M/T's are dandy, but they don't really fit the budget part. You can get some really good deals on the Kumhos. |

Yep the hos I got ...whoops I mean Kumhos were like 100 or less each mounted balanced out the door I have over 20,000 on mine and they are wearing good, did great in snow, been in some mud and on some rocks, so if you are mainly going to be on the road look at them. Mines the KL78s Road Venture ATs next set is the MTs though for another set of wheels for FUN times |

The downer here is that I can't get the Kumhos, apparently they are not available in the vegas valley. Just like the General AT Grippers I was debating. Not sure why but that is what the Discount Tire site says. |

I would say the KO's but they are expensive. Good on-road, good off-road. There are knock-offs from other brands. Revo's are awesome on road, okay off-road (better than anything below a KO, though). |

Yeah when I talked to Mike about tires before he suggested the BFG AT, and there is that sale at Sears but they are not really on sale. Tomorrow morning taking wife's Rav4 in to get new shoes, the OEM Dunlops are just crap. 5 years old and only 30k miles on them and they are nearly bald. Granted the time in years is good but the wear is not cool in my book. I will have to see. What Discount Tire has and try to get them to play ball with some lower prices. Hell I might even get the Wrangler MT/rs just cause they look good but then again they are not cheap either. Current possibilities are: Wrangler MT BFG AT KO Firestone Destination MT General Grabber AT2 Size, I was thinking the 245/75/16, should be good with the lift on it. Then again the 255/70/16 is also a possibility...but I think I would definitely have to hammer the weld on that one. |

try TireRack.com for your tires and find a preferred installer through them. They will drop ship the tires right to the installer. I got 5 shipped and installed through my local Merchants Tire in 30 hours! BTW, take a look at the Fuzion XTi's I've got the 245/65/17's with over 10k on them already and they still look brand new. |

Aren't those really narrow though? I checked on the General Grippers and they can't even order them. Not sure why though. I am going to go with the BFGs at 150 a pop they are not too bad. Could be cheaper...like free But what can you do. They should be a million times better than my Yokos.
As for TireRack, they have some nice tries there but the only place they install really close to me is Big O and the manager there is an...well...let's just say I would not take my enemies car or truck there. |

BTW, take a look at the Fuzion XTi's I've got the 245/65/17's with over 10k on them already and they still look brand new. right now, i'm really going with the FS Destination AT, let me see what the Fuzion do to my options! but thanks on the website. ohh, i like those! how much milaege you have put on them? thats one of the reasons i liked the Destination all i have read they are really, really good on how much miles you can put on them. |

htkrph, Not sure if you know or not, but you can purchase, and even special order tires and rims from the NEX. Tax free, and no shipping charges, plus they'll price match any printed ad (magazine ads, quadratec, or 4wheelparts catalgos too). |
