LOST JEEPS :: View topic - Dueler A/Ts???

That wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that its 2wd and there is no weight in the back, would it?

I've been running on Revo's for 25k. When I have gone out west doing Colorado trails they have been excellent tires, no slippage at all on rocky terrain wet or dry. Mississippi mud down here in Louisiana on the other hand I give them a B-. But then again they aren't mudders. Mine have always been a little noisy on the road, but great as far as traction and handling. They are wearing about normal, probably another year left on the tread for wheeling.
However, I just frankenlifted my KJ and baby wants some new shoes. I don't forsee myself getting bigger Dueler A/T Revo's again. Biggest drawback is $$$. Those things spensive. I'm looking at the Firestone Destination A/T's. Is anyone in KJ land rollin these? The price is right $102 on tire rack for 245/75/16 :lol:

not at all as the back weighs more than the front at over 5000#
the front weighs in at just over 3000#
They just slide on top rather than "dig in"
heck I can not even give a decent lawn job with these things

heck my $65 each remington mud brutes would be 10X better in the mud
these are about as good as any highway tire in the mud and that is not saying much
I have them and I would not dare leave a paved road with them on a 2wd truck and would think twice if it were 4wd

Man, I thought I was the only one to ever run those crappy Remington mud brutes. I had a set of 35s on an 87 YJ. They worked I guess, but didn't last too long out in the vegas hard rocks.

So what do people that have Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts think of them? Looking at possibly getting a set of them for my rig, 255/70/16.

I have Revo's , good in mud ( no more sliding around), amazingly better in rain, stronger sidewall. However they do catch rocks like all get out... throw um good and far on highway speeds too

I have them on my 2wd F250 Gets stuck on wet grass ,great road traction but that is about it I would not have them for any vehicle that goes off road ,going to end up stuck way to easy

My Revo's re great in snow, rain and sand. I haven't run them in much mud so i can't say about that.

Honestly I think for a AT tire they clean themselves very well, went through a good 8"'s of riverbed mud with a lot of clay in it, then drove up a small hill and pull over and they were clean. I cannot wait for snow, all the guys at my tire place say these aree going to be the next tire they put on their trucks after seeing the tread design. And I do not believe you can get stuck in wet grass... Only time I've seen it happen was with a guy in town with a Dakota RT with a lot of engine mods, even on the street it was tricky to grab ground. He never got stuck with street tires on the we grass, just couldn't make it up the hill.

I will tell you this if you plan to wheel in South LA dont waste your money on AT's you can get set up with MT's for around the same or less money and I know people getting 40 and 50K out of them drop me a PM and I will tell you who to call ,may be able to get you set up with some MTR's on the cheep this is a huge MIGHT but still a shot got mine for VERY cheep and ~0-5K on them

As far as pricing... I got my 5 LT 245/75/16's for $588 out the door. Comes out to 117 a tire, installed and taxed.

Yup they do not like the rocks ,busted a few side walls but they work great for 90% of the trails we run ,steep dirt hills They even seem to do almost as good as any other MT when it comes down to it

They are not as aggressive looking as the BFGs, Revos, or Grabbers, but they are available in C-Load rating which only the Duelers, Revos and GY SAs are also. There are no D-Load rated tires in 245/75/16 that I know of, and the rest are E-Load rated.
