| Post subject: | 265/70-16 Tire Size |
Anybody running this size 265/70-16? I currently have 245/75-16 wrangler mt/r's about 1/2 worn, spare is brand new. I plan on selling them and swapping over to some General Grabber at2's. I need more of a/t tire for my 52 mile round trip commute to work each day. Plus I have an 8hr trip to outer banks in about 2months and dont feel like hearing the girlfriend witch about tire noise the whole way. Tirerack says 265/70-16 are about .2" taller and .9" wider than my current mt/r's. I want to go a bit larger (mt/r's look small) but not as large as a 265/75-16 due to gearing. Revs Per Mile on the 265's is 675 as opposed to my mt/r's of 679. Ran a search and found a few posts but really just some pictures. I'm open for comments. thanks! |

I'm running 265/75/16 and had to do some metal cutting besides removing the plastic inner liner of the fender. I wish I could get my 4.10's though. All in due time I guess. Terry |

Front (no shot of pinch weld)
Rear is a little hard to see as it's dark outside, but I've bent the metal in the rear so that it faces up and back on it's self. No chance on catching or cutting rubber. The plastic from the door & flare has been cut by about 10 to 15mm so the tyre just get's past it. You can't tell it's been cut if you don't look up into the wheel well.
Fros, if you need better shots just say. I will take the camera to work tomorrow just in case as it will be dark by the time I get home. |

Mounted yet? I am very interested in how they look mounted and in what you have to do to stop any rubbing. Please keep us updated. |
