Mastercraft or Cooper

I know they are the same company, but i was wondering if anyone has some input on these tires i am looking at.

I am looking for a decent AT tire that wont cost me a arm and a leg. I looked at the Mastercraft Courser A/T 2 tires. and i do like the tread pattern. at a local town fair,they sell for $149 a tire.

i've also looket at Coopers ATR's. That tread design is a lilttle different and the sell for $138 a tire.

I guess my question is, has anyone heard any reviews about these tires? or does anyone have them?

any input would def. be helpful. my stock SR-A's sidewall is strarting to peel off so i think its time for me to get some new shoes for the liberty.

I have ran both and they did about the same, check out some Kumhos as well, mine are doing great have about 19,000/ 20,000 on them and just starting to wear, paid 100 each mounted /balanced etc

i had a set of ATR's and I was very happy with them. I spent a whole day wheeling down at Livingston with them and at the time they had about 35K on them. Had plenty of traction, just not enough ground clearance :wink:

I run a set of Sport King A/T's. Made as a private label by BFG, and is the old version of their T/A KO. In 265/75r16 they set me back 108 each, and have performed well (it is an A/T) everywhere I've wheeled.

I initially ran the Cooper AT (very close to the ATR). Good solid AT tire, the only reason I got rid of them is because they seemed to wear out really quick. Now I have the General Grabber AT2, which is fantastic. Price is good. I'd say if you're looking at the Cooper, look into the Grabber as well (especially if you want a more aggressive look!)

the ATR's replaced the A/T's. i had a set of Cooper A/T's on my Bronco, Ramcharger and GC...I thought they were just as good if not better than the ATR's....and more aggressive looking. I easily got 40k out of all my Coopers.

Thats the tire but the tread on mine looks just a little wider, blocks are farther apart, more open. I bought them since I knew I was going to be doing a ton of driving every weekend ( 550/600 miles) but wanted something a little more open than say a set of Destination ATs but not a full on mud tire, next is a set of their mud tires though :twisted:

take a look at the Fuzion XTi while at Tirerack. I have about 15k on mine with no noticable wear. great on my DD rain and light snow is all I have had a chance to test them in but they hold great.

the 245/70/16 is the same size as my 245/65/17's and fit great under a stock vehicle.
