Im wondering wich M/T tire is best for pavement, well wich one lasts longer since my kj its a DD, I just go to the mud like once a month, i'm between Goodyear MTR's or BFG AT's since I like the agressive shoulder of this ones, also if you guys know if theres some wheel spacers cheaper than spidertrax, I want the 1.25". Thanks. |

Neither the MTR nor BFG AT's are Mud tires. MTR is Maximum traction - awesome in Moab - not in mud This had a good MT discussion http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=31245 |

The MT-R is a fine tire. If you look at this real world test of mud tires, you'll see that the MT-R is much better than expected finishing behind the two Interco models but ahead of the other MT tires tested. http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/mud_tires_tested/index.html |

plus do not go cheap on wheel spacers, or maybe you do not value your life much ???? either go with proper back spacing on other wheels or get Spidertrax If you go MTRs make sure you rotate very often |

Not a big fan of the MT/R's either. Another great resource is: http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT-Tires/MT-Mud_Terrains.htm They rate the tires on there performance in mud, snow, on the rocks, street, their price, and sizes available. |

And just for the record an MT tire is not a very good choice for a daily driver. |

If you play in the mud you need MT's neither tire you listed will be as good as a good ole swamper in the mud now they will suck on the road I would just go with a 245/75 ,if you are lifted, brand X Mud Terrain They will last almost as long as the MTR but for $50 or more less per tire These are a popular local choice seem to hold up well and only $135 each http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?d ... 135&Achse= or another option http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?d ... 135&Achse= or these http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?d ... 135&Achse= I like these http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?d ... 135&Achse= |

Why not? my fuel economy has not taken a dump with my 10p MT/R's over my 4p Coopers Wet traction is livable if the noise bothers you, turn the stereo up if the ride bothers you, get a pillow. |
