LOST JEEPS :: View topic - Need some help picking out tires...

with the liners removed, wouldn't the fog lights and related wiring be totally exposed to the elements, road debrit, mud, rocks? :shock:

maybe ill just stick with the 31's... :lol:

id rather listen to you guys then get painted into a corner and be screwed with 32's

Before I would buy them I would try them and see if they will really fit, because one, you have a Rustys lift so it will/ has already sagged which means you may not have enough heighth, second they are going to kill your mileage and power if you don't care about those then go for it.

just words of caution don't take it like some on here :wink:

Ive had this jeep for awhile and its coming time to get new tires... I drive my KJ as a daily driver, but i like the look of the aggressive tires... would like to go as large as possible... i do occasionally off road, but not as much as id like... if anyone in NJ wants to go sometime let me know!

after I lifted my KJ I bought some 245/75 and thats what I plan on sticking with, it equals out to be a 31" and you can get a 265/75 to fit which would be a 32" but you will lose more power with it and I dont think I lost hardly any power with my 245/75 and my mpg has remained about the same

ok cool, so 32's will fit with the inner wheel wells out correct? i was thinking about getting these guys... Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 265/75R16 any thoughts?

With the liners removed, and the pinch weld pounded, they should fit. You'll probably want to move the washer bottle after you see it.

Plus if you do it I would get some undercoating and spray everything really well to protect those areas

yes, not speaking from experience, but BFG makes amazing tires. someone else just got them on here, and said that they are loud as, well you know. Also, I am pretty sure it's going to knock down your mpg's a loootttt! just my 2 cents

errrrrrrr, freakin tires... i hate looking like a soccer mom in my libby, i want something aggressive, but i am not rich either so mpg is still a concern... i guess ill just make a choice and deal with it...

to me its worth the hit on mpg's to get the tires you want. i hate compromising on tires. Noisy? dont care. loose a bit on MPG? dont care. as long as they do their job well and look good, i'll take em My next set outside of winter tires will be either the mud terrain km2's or the all terrain KO's. really like the look of them both.

However i also have a frankenlift (about 4in of lift)... and a 6 speed so i can get away without regearing..with stock 3.55 gears i'm getting about 17mpg and still have decent power. i absolutely love my BFG AT's and they're pretty aggressive looking while remaining silent on road and great offroad/snow/ice. my dad runs mickey thompson MTZ's and loves them too. i have a buddy that runs 37inch BFG KM2's and likes their performance but they shook like mad... BFG is sending him new tires because of it. good choice overall though or.. you could run 35's like in my picture to the left... then you really wouldnt look like a soccer mom

So what did you end up gettting? I am looking at BGF 245/45R16 or 265/70R16 both about 30.7" or if I can 265/75R16 or 235/85R16 both about 31.7" I am not sure what kind of lift is need for the 31.7" or what if any spacers are needed to fit 265's
