Ran across these new MT/R's with Kevlar, kinda on the fence about the looks but may make a good AT tire.

Not sure original MTRs had sidewall puncture problems to begin with. Not that a little more protection hurts, I've never heard anyone complain about the MTRs sidewalls yet though. I agree, the tread is interesting to say the least.

Real interesting tread design.

The closest they are listing to my OEM size is 245/70/17 and I do not think they will fit without a lift. I either have to drop to a 16" rim for better tire selection options, and/or get lifted.

I kind of like them. They look KIND of cool. Expensive, but cool.
Has anyone used those "Duratrac" tires? I don't want to start a new thread about this. Just curious.

John Legend told me to get lifted.
I just thought I would throw that in there.

Does anyone here know who that is? Just curious.

I'm sure it does fine for traction, but it look's retarded to me. It's like half mud tire and half.........regular MTR....i guess. I like my tires to be symmetrical.

reminder: call GY warehouse tomorrow :D

should do better in snow and wet weather traction...

Unusual tread. Guess you'd have to run them white letters out, though.

Very interesting..................I'm not impressed so far. I don't know what to think. My first impressions aren't very optomistic. :?

Upon further inspection. I'm not a fan of the Buzzsaw-esque sidewall "design". :?

Is that for looks? Kinda yuppieish...

Dan The Roach had a sidewall issue on Kane Creek three Moabs ago.

With kevlar added, I am sure the cost is astronomical compared to its already steep price.

with such a long history with goodyear, i cant imagine him saying anything bad about them weather he likes them or not. besides he didnt really say anything specific about them, pretty generic compliments. looks like a good tire, but Im not sold yet.

Perhaps this tire is motivated and inspired by marketing enthusiasts who are wanting to bring a more economical off-road tire to the occasional off-roader. So either I’m failing to see the benefits that this tire offers or I’m biased towards the marketing scheme. :?

John Legend is awesome he has a very old fashion sound. Back on topic extra protection is always good. I dont really like the tread design though.

FYI - Tirerack has started listing them - but the only KJ sizes are 31/10.5/15 or 265/75/16
