i have five 2004 stock tj rubicon moab wheels with goodyear mtr tires. bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5, will fit yj, tj, xj, zj without adapters. had these on my zj that was daily driven. 4 tires have about 5/16" tread left, the spare has a little less. 2 or 3 of the wheels have some rock rash but its only cosmetic

$350 for the set of 5 firm

Are you willing to pay it? Are there many of these deals to be found in your area or do they come by once in a blue moon? A good buy to me might not be a good one to you. But if it was me I woudn't pay over 200 for them. Less than 1/2 tread and rock rash on the wheels, I'd lowball the crap out of him, but Moabs are pretty common around here.

i started looking around craigslist in the whole state to see if i find them and how common are they. and that was the only "fair" deal that i though of. the rest were 500+. i'm just browsing, but would like to know what would be good or not.

$500 is a rip off for sure. I met a guy who was going to sell me his Moabs for $100 locally but they won't fit the hubs I'll be running. If tires are below 50% then they aren't worth much at all if anything either. That said, if you really want to buy these because they are less expensive than all the other Moabs you've come across and you are cool with paying that much, then go for it. For me, it seems too much, but a lot of people say they can't find Moabs for less than $300 for just the wheels. I guess it depends on where you are and how common they are.

I paid 750 for all 5 of mine with 5000 miles on them, but my rims didn't many scratches.

So it sounds like a good deal, but didn't you just put on the tires that you have on now?

I paid less than that for 5 Moabs and MTRs, the spare was brand new, two had 3/4 tread left and the other two half tread

I paid $600 for all 5 Moabs with Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos in a 245/75/R16. The spare was brand new, the other 4 tires had 60% rubber on them. The rims were in excellent condition.

Willy yeah, i just put on the tires i got on now. i get bored and work and always end up passing my time in craigslist. i initially was just looking for the rim. but ended up finding that. i wanted to know what the 'gurus' thought of that deal. that way when the times to come to reallly get some new tires/wheels or upgrade to better beefier tires i will know what to look for and how much to pay for.

I live pretty close to Culpeper. I just emailed the owner for pics. I can probably drive over that way this weekend and look at them for you if he doesn't have any pics. In fact, I need an excuse to get to the Tidewater area anyway so if things work out and you buy them let me know. I can probably pick them up for you and run them down there on a weekend.

BTW, I bought a set of 5 from a Jeep owner on another Jeep board for less than $500. Mine were almost new. 6000 miles on 4 of them and the spare was virgin. Try posted a "wanted" in the classifieds section of other local Jeep message boards. When they upgrade their Rubicon's these thing have got to go! 8)

Man, you guys paid a ton for your Moabs. As long as you are happy with the price and what you are getting for it is all that matters in the end.

If you paid less the $600 for a set of 5 with decent tires on them you got a very good deal.Have you priced MOAB's? There almost $200 each new.You will find sets for way less since some just want them gone.

New Moabs are expensive yes, but out here locally, the used ones are really common. Why anyone would pay full price for new ones makes no sense at all to me though. $200 for a set is almost too much if any have trail rash from my shopping around when I was going to get some to save weight which wasn't really much of a savings. And most I see are being sold because they bought a new jeep or a used one that someone never took off road and they don't need them because they are going to get big blinging wheels or black steelies.

INC, I think you are one of the few that has gotten a screaming deal on the Moabs. I am always looking and usually see them for around 500+ for 5. Perhaps it is just your area...if so when are you coming back down :D
