my bf goodrich AT do not perform well in the mud at all. they just slide and get no grip. now, maybe i should be letting some air out, but come on... what are some good ideas for when i get my lift in and i upsize the tires to 31 or 32? i need a decent price but a tire that will last.. just get the mud terrain? or the general grabber AT? suggestions please.. thanks and i will probably be sticking with my stock 16" rims unless i can find a deal on tires AND wheels for cheap cheap.

Biggest trick with mud is even a swamper with clog if you just drive into and threw the mud. Then your driving on a mud doughnut. Wheel spin to clean out the lugs with centrifical force is needed. Rock crawlers go slow, mud boggers have there foot to the floor. |

yeah but when there are two trees, 10 feet apart, you are trying to go through, and tons of pretty big rocks and roots, you wanna climb pretty slowly up that, but i CAN'T when my @$#% jeep just slides off the edge of the root and all over the place. the place im trying to access is a mud oval that will be pedal to the metal fun!! |

They are BFG ATs not MTs. Hard to find any AT that does well in real mud. Look at the BFG KM2s, Interco Trxus, Cooper STT, or Mickey Thompson MTZ. All will be much better in mud, but still be acceptable for daily driving. |

i really want to get a set of BFG AT's for my jeep for daily driving. then ill have my MT's for when i go offroading |

i run my BFG AT's at 15lbs when offroading and they have treated me very very very well... granted they dont perform like a super swamper in mud but they do get me though. if you are not airing down DO IT.. it's a night and day difference. also mine were really really good when new and like new.. but now heading down to 50 percent gone they are starting to get much worse in mud.. but still outstanding for daily driving tires. with that said my next tires will be Interco Trxus.. or BFG KM2's.. since i do use my jeep everyday but love offroading. hey Rayman.. you can have my tires and wheels... just what ya need! seriously though.. you can. PM me about em. |

If you want a tire that is acceptable in mud, and you do not like your BFG ATs, you will like the Generals WAY less. Sorry, but if you wheel it...you really should go for a mud terrain. Best choices are in a 225/75-16 for an unlifted KJ |

i had bfg at's on my bronco II, i had a heck of a time keepin them cleaned out, red clay would fill up the grooves and just stay there till i got out on the paved road and id be flinging pieces of clay for 5 miles they were great on everything else though! |

yeah when i go through mud and get on pavement, i accelerate hard, and the sound of the mud slapping my car and fenders and flinging into the air is lovable... i DO like the tire, i just feel like the tread pattern being so aggressive should help the tire perform better in mud... i think im gonna look around at the MT KM2 or the destinations like stever71 has. |

bfg at's are just that all terrain tires if you are going to do alot of mudding then there are an upgrade to a bfg MT's or anorther MT type of tire ... I had a set of mt's that threw mud like there was no tomarrow but sucked on the highway I think that bfg at's are a good all around general purpose tire with great mileage wear ...I have driven cross country several times on a set rain snow sleet and mud ........ Just my 2 cents thanks |

yeah, dies, when i get my lift on im gonna leave my at 235 on till i go offroading, but im always in and out of woods looking for cool doo doo.. so ill probably jut keep em aside, and let the mosquitos... ah in storage, i mean...  i am thinking cooper SST looking NICE!!
